You’re content is failing because you’re expecting it to do too much 👇

Everyone wants their content to get tons of engagement but sometimes we get a bit call to action (CTA) happy and try to make one piece of content do too many things.

Having too many CTAs in one post can actually dilute you message. It’s like a box filled with tasty chocolates, if there’s too much choice you might not know which one to pick first.

So here’s what you should do:

✨ One goal
What are you hoping to achieve with your post? Drive traffic to your website? Reach more people? Once you have a goal in mind create content that will help you do that e.g. if you want to boost your reach then using a relatable meme might be the way to go

✨ One action
What's the MAIN thing you want people to do after seeing your post? Save your post for later? Sign up to your newsletter? Leave a comment? Choose one and make it clear!

✨ Use strong verbs
Don't just say "click here." Use action verbs like "Shop Now," "Learn More," or "Download Today!" These words grab attention and tell viewers exactly what to do.

✨ Make it clear
If your chosen CTA is in your post graphic then make sure it's noticeable and not obscured with other text or graphics. And in your caption, don't add lots of waffle to the sentence with the CTA as it makes it easier for people to see.

Found this post helpful? Make sure to save it for later 😊

Did you know, research shows people are more 2.4x more likely to say that UGC is more authentic than branded content?

If you’re thinking ‘What the hell is UGC?’ then keep reading to get the low down 👇

UGC seems to be the latest marketing buzzword at the moment and stands for User Generated Content. It’s original content created for a brand by customers (although some brands may hire UGC creators). The content can take many forms but it’s usually photo or video content.

Since it’s more authentic it can help with conversion rate, as people are more likely to trust what other people are saying compare to brands. It also creates a relatable experience for potential customers as when they see people like themselves using a particular product.

UGC can be used by any size of brand but it can be easier for smaller businesses to use UGC to help build brand awareness and can be easier to manage than investing in an influencer campaign which can easily cost thousands of pounds.

Have you considered adding UGC into your marketing mix?

✨ Promotion of take home products - not only is this a great way to help sell your at home treatments, invite customers to share and tag you in their social posts so you can increase your UGC posts

✨ Salon tour - show potential clients your salon so they know what type of experience they can expect when they visit

✨ New treatments - Got new treatments on offer? Make sure you're shouting about them on socials and let everyone know why they can't afford to miss out on this latest treatment

✨ Share the tools you use - Use specialist products in you salon? Then let clients know why you use these tools and what makes them special

✨ Show of transformations - These could be before and after Reels or why knot show the process from start to finish?

✨ Share tips from you stylists - Get your stylists to share their hair care secrets, from purple shampoo to creating the perfect heatless curls, so clients can keep their hair looking fabulous between visits

Struggling to attract local clients or customers through social media? Here's 8 things you can use to promote your business locally:

✨ Encourage customers to tag you in the posts - Let customers know what your handles or hashtags are by telling them, having signage in your store or on your business cards

✨ Be active in local groups, these could be in-person or online - Going to local business networking events or being active in local community on social media are a great way to get in front of new potential customers

✨ Make sure you location is in your bio - Adding your location will help you appear in the search results

✨ Adding locations to your social media posts - This will help you appear in search results too

✨ Using local hashtags related to your business - This a great way to be found by potential customers ans connect with other local businesses

✨ Sharing content created by your customers - This helps to deepen the relationship you have with your existing customers and can help build trust with potential customers

✨ Collaborating with local influencers or groups - This helps you show up in more people's news feeds and by working with people who already have an audience who trust them it can help drive people to your channels as well

✨ Targeting potential customers through ads - You can also use social media advertising to help get you profiles seen by local audiences and to ask people to take a particular action e.g. visit your website, follow on social etc.

I love creating feed mock-ups! Here's one that I created for a fictitious skincare brand called Glow.

Glow is a budget friendly vegan skincare brand which uses natural ingredients and has a target audience of teenagers/young adults. I choose bright, bold colours to appeal to the audience and make them stand out from other skincare brands. The feed not only helps to promote their latest products and sale, but helps to educate followers as well by explaining how the ingredients they use work.

Do you need a feed glow up? Get in touch and we can chat about how we can work together ✨️

When was the last time you reviewed your social channels? 🤔

Conducting regular social media audits can help you adjust your marketing strategy so that you can create and share the best content possible!

They can help you uncover which channels are performing best, what content appeals to your audience and help you work out where you should focus your attention.

There's no set rules as to how often you should do a social media audit but I recommend taking a deeper dive into your analytics at least once a quarter. Taking a good look at your analytics can help you work out:
✨ What's working and what isn't
✨ Who your audience is and where you can find them
✨ How your social media channels are performing in relation to your business goals

Hopefully this posts makes you feel confident to jump into your analytics but if you're still not sure where to start drop me a comment below and I'll help you out 💜

🛑 Stop creating content to try and please the algorithm! 🛑

You shouldn't be trying to chase the trends that you think the algorithm wants to see. Instead your content should appeal to your audience and have a human element and solve the problems that your customer is facing.

Why? Because people relate to other people, and they buy from people.

When content is created to try and game the algorithm it can create inauthentic content for your brand which your customers will be able to see through. By creating content that appeals to your audience you’re much more likely to have people engage with your content.

What brands to you think creates amazing and engaging content? I personally loved Monzo's recent 'Year in Monzo' campaign. It did jump on a trend, Spotify wrapped but it appealed to their customers. It worked as it was personalised to each customer showing them their spending habits but they also used the data to create fun facts about how different locations in the UK spend their money.
