Ellie Carpenter's speech on what the Matildas are doing for women's sport in Australia is guaranteed to make you smile ๐ฅน๐ฆ๐บ๐
"When I was growing up, I was with a boy's team. I didn't have a girl's team.
"I went and watched the Matildas play when I was 12 years old and I think there were 300 people in the stadium. But I still wanted to play for Australia, I was still dreaming to play on that pitch with the girls with 300 people in the stands.
"I think now if I was a 12-year-old in Stadium Australia and Brisbane Stadium, watching sold out crowds, like how amazing that is for young girls and young boys to see that.

"Our job this World Cup was to inspire the next generation and hearing how many people are watching our games, coming to our games, having live sites around Australia - they're showing our game in four major stadiums - that's just incredible.
"When we rock up to the games and see everyone in our jerseys and screaming fans, it's touching and honestly, it makes me a bit emotional because it's just so amazing.
"This is what we wanted to do. We wanted to inspire the next generation and pave the way for women's football in Australia."
