I make your clients happy to pay you for products or services you offer through development or designing of seamless, stunning, user-centric, functional, responsive and aesthetic digital products.

I put it together the right way and this in turn makes the owners of these digital products happy. This person right here went from skeptical to happy in less than one month.

He had only the idea but no resource of what he needed to put the website together.
Now, he is impatient for me to finish linking pages and correcting alignments. He wants to jump on a call and tell me what to do because the picture is clear now to him 😂

I like that he is happy. But before time difference will make him wake up from sleep, I’d have been done with these corrections to make him happier.

One thing web developers become in the middle of their task is content creators too. That’s the part they won’t tell you till you get in.

I was working on content for a website I am developing when they visited on Sunday.

My little cousin screamed “Anty you’re typing without looking at the keyboard”

He does not understand how I do that and so fast, when he uses one finger to punch the keyboard of an android phone with his eyes moving from one letter to the other for location.

After that conversation, I told myself that this could not have been possible if I was not doing it consistently since 2012.

I learnt computer appreciation in 2012.
I managed a computer center where I rendered services like typing, photocopy, lamination etc after that.

I remember frankly that while managing the shop, I had my eyes fixed on the keyboard to get jobs done. Whether bulk typing or not.

Over a decade down the line, I am able to type faster and without looking at my keyboard, whether phone or not.

People see me use my phone and complain that I type so fast. How can you be complaining about that? I cannot relate.

Well, I came to tell you that consistency has results. This is one that I did not pay attention to until my little cousin made that exclamation on Sunday.

I have a full staff that I do not pay at all, but works very hard, smart and well daily.

A Non-German speaker built a website for German speakers/ audience.
A Non-French speaker built a website for French speakers / audience.
And yes, the client was satisfied.

I have never been to Germany or France and do not know how to speak these languages but I built a website with these languages. How?

I never took my French classes in secondary school seriously. I am not sure that I can say up to ten words in French. Maybe I can, maybe not.

Apart from saying "Good Morning" in Germany, which my Dad taught me recently (he lived there) and recognising the simplest thing as Contact which they spell as Kontakt (which I learnt on the job), I have no idea how to write or speak German language.

So when I read that "AI will take over this and that", I scroll past. I am not insecure about AI. I embrace it because like every other thing about technology, digital or physical, it is here as my Personal Assistant to help do work better.

A website is responsive if a user can find all contents on the website within the frame of any device he or she decides to use.

Assumption is risky and can cost you a lot.

“Never assume till you are sure” should be a strict life principle - all round.

One of the pages of the website I am building looked good on phone when I viewed it with a phone.

The mobile view was okay and that made me think it is okay on tablet.

But something took me to the backend of the page. I decided to spend few seconds to check all devices as I do not have a handy tablet to load the site.

Lo and behold, I discovered the tablet view was not responsive.

Never be too sure until you are sure.
Never assume till you’re sure, apply this to everything in your life. Assumption is risky and can cost you a lot.

I experienced sleepless nights throughout July.

Well, except on Sundays, as they were my days off for rest.

Just one week after concluding my product design (UI/UX) training, I came across an advertisement for a one-month intensive design challenge for product designers in Uyo. The challenge was organized by product designers from Uyo.

I joined the challenge.

I would shut myself down after reading the day’s task because it seemed as though the tasks were designed for senior designers 😢. I would later reboot, reread the task, pick up the book I was reading in July, and complete my daily target before opening my laptop.

The reason was simple: I knew I would only get up when I cracked the task, designed, and submitted it. Each task had its own expiration time.

I love it when I crack "difficult" stuff. The joy I feel after completing such tasks hits differently. I can dash you my future trillions. 😂
I'd reply "fine" to your "how was your day?" and be smiling because my day I s really fine, yet that simple "fine" hardly even encompasses the true delight I feel.

Some people voluntarily dropped off along the way. Some were eliminated since they couldn't meet up. As finalists, we had a physical get-together last Saturday. Guess what? During introductions, everyone had at least two years of experience in product design. I stood out with a mere three months' experience.

I took a moment to revisit my chats with my trainer (during my training) and read the commendations he gave for my projects when I sent them over for criticism. On things I told him I couldn't figure out, he assured me that I could and should go do it. I did.

I was actually in a challenge with people who had no less than two years of experience and made it to the end, consistently providing expected answers to each task’s questions. I took time to eat as my reward, koro se enimde nyin ke iso, nyin idi yonke ikpong. 😂

What other rock-solid motivation do I need to keep staying on track, other than that?

Oh yeah, my internship starts this month too. I'm ticking boxes beside the goals I had when this year began.
