Our world is truly magnificent, filled with contrasts from one place to another. Today I went on a mountain hike with my family. Beautiful views, mild weather, delicious local cuisine. Talks about the present and about the past. That made me think of my grandma in Siberia and my friends in Asia. My grandma sent me photos of snowy streets, winter is in my hometown for a full week already. That’d be bitterly cold for me! Meanwhile, my friends shared photos from Asia mentioning it’s so hot there.

I often wish my grandma could experience a different climate, and see cultures different from her own. Talking to foreign people, tasting their food, listening to their music and seeing how they spend their days... Perhaps that won’t ever happen, she isn’t very fond of traveling. She still sees a little bit thought the lens of my camera, which is a sweet thing to think about.

Travel more, it is so worth it.

ps. dropping a new video tomorrow!

Just wanted to share some great news with you all! I’m back in Georgia, for the same reason that brought me here last year: to spend time with my family, and take care of a few YouTube things related to money. What a reality of being a Russian citizen in 2024: I don’t even consider seeing my mom in our hometown in Siberia. Which means she gets to travel again (she likes it)!

I want to say a huge thank you to all of you. Just the fact that you watch my videos makes a world of difference for me. Views mean money, money means I am able to have this trip for myself, and treat my mom a journey, too. She arrived in Georgia earlier this week, and I’ve been spending most of time with her, while also working on the next video for you all! (the one I recorder in Vietnam before taking a trip to Georgia.)

I’m pretty sure she’ll join a part of the video I’m filming here in Georgia, just like last year. But today she’s feeling camera-shy and hiding behind this giant Georgian khinkali 🙂

New videos coming soon! The past two months have been quite a journey. I traveled to Myanmar (again), returned to Vietnam, and recently finished a two-week trip towards Georgia. I have plenty of content to share with you!

Tomorrow, you’ll see a new video from my trip to Myanmar, and then I will start sharing videos from my recent journey. (I regret not posting more often since my previous upload, but I feel happy that I gave myself time to film and edit the videos with a comfortable pace.)

Ps. Precious two weeks I’ve spent travelling from Vietnam to Malaysia to India to Oman to UAE to Georgia. Weirdly, all flights cost me the same money as I’d pay for a direct ticket to Georgia. What a great opportunity to experience some new places!

Pps. That’s my picture from Oman, the hottest place I’ve visited this year. Never thought that I’d have a chance to go there.

One thing I find fascinating is how we all have something that drives us. Someone can’t live without music, someone is obsessed with cooking, someone finds joy in raising kids, and someone hasn’t found their passion yet. For me, that passion is travel, and filming comes right after.

I’m about to start a new journey across five countries, with my final stop in Georgia. This trip is a necessity, something I have to do after recent changes in Google AdSense for Russia-based channels. But it doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. I’ve found a way to spice up this trip and transform it into a journey.

Here’s my route: Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) > Kochi (India) > Muscat (Oman) > Abu Dhabi (UAE) > Tbilisi (Georgia).

Are you from any of these places? I’d love to meet up and have you show me around!
Curious about any of these countries? Let me know what you’d like to see. I’ll be filming day-long videos in each country, and it’d be amazing to capture something you’re interested in.

P.S. I’m taking off tomorrow! Feel free to email or DM me on Instagram if you have suggestions or ideas.

I recently came across a phrase I hadn’t heard before: the joy of missing out. The older I get, there’s less room for FOMO (fear of missing out) in my life. Missing out can be nice! This month I feel a lot of joy staying in Dalat. Being close to nature, doing small things, and slowly working on my videos. Not rushing the process, just creating in a way that feels right to me. Just learning to be more efficient with my time. (That’s why I’ve been uploaded less on my channel, hope you understand).

I’m finishing an edit of my second video from Myanmar. Can’t wait to share it with you this week!

Privet everyone! I’m currently having a slow trip to a new country in my life: Myanmar. Didn’t expect to visit this place but here we are. Life here is… interesting. I film a lot, and that’s going to be a long episode about this country (next week). As for this week’s upload, it’s coming tomorrow!

A few highlights of this journey:
- I’m doing fine. I am visiting Yangon and the area very close to the city, it’s rather safe here;
- people speak really good English here, I am surprised how easy it is to get around Yangon city;
- I’ve got a few local friends and a few expat friends who show me around. They’ll be in the video;
- money is weird here, and everything is rather cheap for a foreigner, and expensive for a local person.

I like airports. Like all the oddly shaped vehicles and constructions. Airports are great! Except prices for food and water 😅 but it’s getting better every year. I see more and more airports charging regular prices. The best thing about airports is they’re just like portals. You wake up in one city, hangout at an airport, then whoosh! and you’re thousands of kilometres away. All in the same day. I like airports!

Camping experience in the mountains of Dalat. I got used to going to the nature here. Few things can be better than seeing myriads of stars before falling asleep and waking up early morning to see that sea of clouds.

Last two months I went offline mode almost entirely. I didn’t post much, filmed a little bit, and spent a lot (a lot!) of time with mom and a part of our family. Today I’m staying at home alone again. Honestly it’s difficult to re-adjust and start posting and uploading content again. I shouldn’t stopped doing this at first place 😅 have a wonderful day everyone!

It’s nice to meet mom again 18 months after our last meeting. Last week I have a short trip to Istanbul which is a perfect destination for a short trip, and also have some significance for us: my mom and I traveled to Istanbul 10 years and last week met there once again.

Istanbul never disappoints when it comes to having Turkish coffee and counting stray cats while walking around the city.

Ps. The rocks are my favorite part of Istanbul Modern (museum of modern art). Last pic is the view from Istanbul Modern’s rooftop.

This is me 10 years ago. 18-years-old Niki just met his first foreign friends in the city of Omsk (Siberia, Russia). This was my first step in the long journey of getting fluent in English. Very fun period of my life, I was meeting people from different parts of the world and awkwardly talking to them with my broken English.

I was always open to learn something new and eventually that period of my life led me to dropping out of my uni, then moving to China and traveling Asia, and then starting my Youtube channel and you knowing of my existence :)

It would've gone so different for me if I didn't learn English. Just got to think about it after recording a video where I talked about how I learned English in Russia.

Literally that was the best decision of my life to hangout with young foreigners visiting my hometown. Now I can get in touch with people all around the world 🙏

25/04/2023

That's exactly 7 months since the day I left Russia. In this video I'll talk about the countries I've stayed since that day, and also about the problem of holding a Russian passport nowadays.

19/04/2023

This video I'm sharing a story about the recent changes to Russia's drafting law which honestly are quite terrifying. I'll explain what is happening in Russia recently, how this new law affects our lives, and also share my personal story about my army experience.

Two weeks in South Korea, having 6 weeks more. One of many things I didn’t know about Korea before getting here: mountains are just everywhere here.

I’m coming from a place that doesn’t have any mountains at all (nor seas), and I still feel thrilled every single time when I see a different landscape.

Feeling super good here. (Except one thing that is super inconveniently designed here: trash separation which is difficult to understand for foreigners who don’t speak Korean)

I’m deeply addicted to nature. Specifically to mountains, that I understood a few years ago and made sure of it last summer.

Maybe I feel this because I was growing up in that part of Russia where we don’t have mountains at all. But I doubt it, we also didn’t have any seas around my hometown and yet I don’t feel anything too special about seas. Maybe someday.

I think the reason for this nature addiction is the flow state. The feeling of being completely focused on a single activity: this I get when I edit my videos, or play boardgames, or go for a hike. And a few other activities too.

It feels super good to spend time doing things that get you into that flow state. Do more of it :)

Lately I find it a bit difficult to stay consistent with my videos. While I want to post more lifestyle and travel content, somehow editing and working on them doesn't go as smooth as producing informational videos. That's what I am doing at the moment, next upload is going to be a dive into one of stories that .harris recently posted about Russia.

Cheers from Saigon, just wanted to drop a message so you know I'm not disappeared 😅

Happy Meow Year! Just arrived to Vietnam and saw locals celebrating Lunar New Year.

Any idea why they’re celebrating the Year of the Cat and not the Rabbits?

Plan for 2020: Welcome to my Page!

Hello everyone! I think you agree with me that it’s always been not an easy thing to introduce yourself, especially to public. But here I am.

My name is Nikita, or just Niki from Russia. One of my biggest passions is traveling, I love exploring new areas and experiencing new things. Five years ago I quit my country and found myself living in China. It’s been a very good time, every day gave me new impressions and the feeling of freshness. But after years of staying in China, I started losing that feeling of freshness, got used to the daily routines and the life turned to be ordinary again. It was quite comfortable though, and the decision to quit again wasn’t the easiest one.

And I quit again in pursuit of a new adventure, with a brand new (for myself) dream - to spend this year entirely for traveling, facing new cultures and acquiring new skills. I decided to keep a slow pace roaming around Asia and Europe this year, giving myself enough time to see the real life of local people rather than jumping from one place to another like a grasshopper. I also decided to take another hobby of mine - making videos - a bit more serious.

I came up with an idea of filming myself during my trips, and also make a series of videos (and maybe articles?) about traveling on budget. After all, that’s what I am doing at the moment! Maybe it will be useful or even inspirational for somebody, and it is also a good way for myself to improve such skills as filmmaking, writing and speaking English. As well as hundreds of other tiny skills!
