Come one, come all!! Wine, food, crafts ... and the weather will be perfect.
I paint, I write, I take photographs. Here's where I will share some of my creations and updates on what is coming.
Come one, come all!! Wine, food, crafts ... and the weather will be perfect.
A few more B & W images ...
One of the things I'm trying to do is figure out B & W photography and whether that might appeal to people. So ... do any of these photos in B & W do anything for you?
There are a few things developing here at KM's Originals. The first is that I have added a new category at my website. It is 8x10 prints. Photos that are available as 8x10 prints at just $10 each. More importantly, that category has over 60 images in it. Images that, if you like, you can special order in a different size or format. See something you like and you want it on metal, just let me know. See things you'd like to purchase as coasters, just let me know. The world is your oyster with ehese images. And there are more to come. Just check it out here: kmoriginals.company.site. And here's a photo for your consideration.
A work in progress, but I now have a website that is up.
I've been taking pictures for decades. A lot of them are in boxes and in folders on computers. I've decided to market some of my best photos and see what happens. If you see an image here you like but would like a different size or a different surface, send me an email at [email protected]
My first ad, for The Basement, included a rookie mistake. I'm hoping to fix it with my second ad, for The Dime, a contemporary young adult novel. We'll see what happens.
While I work on developing a website off FB, in addition to this page, I'm going to put a few things up for sale here. Let me know what you think (am I doing this right? Are you interested? What about the prices?) First up is ... I've got a bunch of note cards now with different photos I've taken. A collection of six 4 x 6 note cards (blank inside, envelopes included). $12 for a set plus postage. If you're local, we can arrange for personal deliver.
From a new review of Killing Berthold Gambrel:
"Reading through this eclectic collection was quite enjoyable primarily due to my long-running curiosity regarding how other writers approach their ideas ... a fun read."
And also available just about everywhere books are available on-line, including: https://books2read.com/u/mvX2o2
Killing Berthold Gambrel: A Collection by Mark Paxson
From a new review of The Basement:
"Paxson creates a chilling, tense storyline here and makes the sense of danger for protagonist Chloe seem utterly real."

Experimenting with a new technique. Not quite what I’m expecting but I’m okay with that.
Two prints that are popular. Fair Oaks Bridge and San Simeon Sunset. 14 x 20. On display and available for purchase on April 29.
100 coasters done and ready for the Elk Grove Festival of the Arts on April 29. Pictures of smaller sets coming in a couple of weeks. If you’re interested in any of these, let me know. $8 for one, $15 for two, $25 for four. If personal delivery isn’t possible, I’ll need to add postage. For an order of four, that’s about $10.
12 x 16 on metal. Monterey Bay. What would you be willing to pay for something like this? Just curious so I can figure out pricing.
My last batch of over 100 unique coasters for the Elk Grove Festival of the Arts. I’ll soon post pics of finished sets. What would you be willing to pay for two? For four?
I’m almost done making coasters. Soon I’ll show more.
What coaster production looks like.
I’m pretty excited about the Elk Grove Festival of the Arts on April 29. It may be three months away, but I have a lot to do. Including a whole new line of coasters featuring my photography. Here are just a few examples of what I hope to be 100 different coasters.
About the name ... KM is short for King Midget. I've been using that for my blog for more than ten years. It's a name my father called me when I was a toddler because being the youngest of four, all I had to do was point at something and somebody would get it for me. Hence the name ... King Midget. And KM's Creative.
I learned this week of the Elk Grove Festival of the Arts. I applied for a booth and ... was accepted!!! Besides dealing with the nerves of such a thing, I now need to get ready for it. I'll be displaying photography, acrylic art, and my books. I'm working on a few surprises for the event, trying to expand my repertoire and see what happens.
It's April 29, somewhere in Elk Grove. As the time draws nearer and I learn more details, I'll share updates here. In the meantime...
Killing Berthold Gambrel, my newest short story collection, is now also available widely across e-book retailers and on-line purveyors of paperbacks. These stories were described by a reviewer as "a combination of Steinbeck and Billy Joel's The Piano Man."

The Basement, my first book published to go wide via Draft2Digital, is a domestic thriller. Described by a reviewer as a "great read for fans of domestic thrillers, psychological thrillers, and suspense." This book is also now widely available paperback at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Powell's Books, and Books-a-Million.

The Basement by Mark Paxson
The Dime, a contemporary young adult novel about a found family. With plenty of drama and trauma. Published in 2021, I'm re-publishing it via Draft2Digital to make it more widely available. The paperback will be available February 1, 2023.

The Dime by Mark Paxson
A Little Bit of This, something old that is new. This is a re-publication of my first two collections of short stories, along with the novella The Irrepairable Past. As with One Night in Bridgeport, I'm doing this to make the book more broadly available than Amazon. 30 stories in total in this volume. The paperback won't be available until after February 6, 2023.

A Little Bit of This by Mark Paxson
My first novel, initially published via Amazon's publishing services more than ten years ago, has now been re-published more widely across e-book and paperback retailers. It's a small-town legal drama. Take a look. The link will take you to the e-book retailers where the book is available. It also should eventually be available in paperback in such on-line places as Books-A-Million and Powell's Books.

One Night in Bridgeport by Mark Paxson
For ten years, I published my books via Amazon’s publishing platforms. Which meant my books mostly could only be found on Amazon. This past summer I published two new books via Draft2Digital, which offers much wider distribution. Now I’m republishing my older books on D2D for the wider distribution. First up is my first novel, One Night in Bridgeport. New cover and all. Available in ebook and paperback everywhere (almost) mid-January.
Books, functional art pieces ... and photography too. I plan on limiting myself to selling photography on metal. It's my favorite medium for photography. Here are a few pics I'll be making available for purchase... (there are many more!)
