KONDWANI NANKHUMWA TRUE IDENTITY EXPOSED
A strong appeal has gone out to Malawi President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to look into the issue of the Mulanje Central Parliamentarian Kondwani Nankhumwa after indisputable evidence has come to light that the legislator uses names and education papers belonging to a dead person. Take note that the MSCE notification results was obtained this year on 08 January at MANEB and it led to the suspension of one of its employees for sharing with the public and he was older than 11 by the year 1988.
A similar appeal has also gone out to the head of the Legislature, Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara to urgently institute an inquiry to probe this Member of Parliament who has lied to the Malawian public for many years using a dead man’s names and education papers. A Chancellor College law lecturer has described the revelations on the fake ‘Kondwani Nankhumwa’ as an eye opener that needs a swift response from both President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and the Parliamentary Speaker to have the copycat answer for his sins.
The Anti Corruption Bureau should be allowed to come in and arrest the man for lying to the nation for many years,” said the law lecturer. He further indicated that once the information on the fake ‘Kondwani Nankhumwa’ has been proved to be true, the Speaker of Parliament is free to declare his seat vacant for acting in a dishonest manner to the Malawian public.
The present Nankhumwa was born George Malemia in Mulanje. Our investigations have established that by his own declaration to the Department of Immigration where he applied for a passport, he was born on 3 July, 1977 meaning that he is 43 years this year, but note that the real date of birth was pushed a bit forward for reasons well known to himself. The information about his MSCE can be also be accessed at MANEB and will confirm everything for the two cousins.
We have since established from close family members that both the genuine Kondwani Nankhumwa and the fake ‘Kondwani Nankhumwa’ that time known as George Malemia went to the same school at Chisitu Primary School in Mulanje. It has since been proven through the family members that the genuine Kondwani Nankhumwa and the fake ‘Kondwani Nankhumwa’ born George Malemia were direct cousins whose mothers were sisters.
According to information that we have gathered from Mrs Nanseta, an aunt to the present fake ‘Kondwani Nankhumwa’, George Malemia was baptized in that name by the late Reverend Mambelera of the Blantyre Synod of the CCAP. The fake ‘Kondwani Nankhumwa’ only moved out of the CCAP in his adulthood life and later joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church where he now congregates.
The aunt further corroborated that the two cousins, Kondwani Nankhumwa and George
Malemia went to the same primary school, Chisitu Catholic where they both passed the now defunct Standard 5 examinations. This information has also been confirmed by teachers Didi and Nkhonjera who taught George Malemia in primary school. The two cousins are reported to have moved on further into upper classes and later Standard 8 where they sat for their Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations in 1988.
According to the PSLC Examination Results we have obtained from both the Malawi National Examinations Board (Maneb) and Chisitu Primary School, the following were some of the pupils who sat for their examinations that year and their results.
Denis Chisamire - Pass
Mahmud Kaunda - Fail
Stanley Munyowa - Pass
George Malemia - Fail
Sylvester Kalonga - Fail
Kondwani Nankhumwa - Pass
Our investigations have established that before collecting his certificate after passing the examinations, the genuine Kondwani Nankhumwa had an accident at Thanguzi in Mulanje on 2nd November, 1988 that resulted in him being taken to Mulanje Mission Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Burial for the deceased took place on 3rd November 1988 at his Lobeni Village in Traditional Authority Chikumbu’s area in the same Mulanje district. Following the death and burial of the late Kondwani Nankhumwa, his cousin George Malemia is reported to have gone to Chisitu Primary School where he obtained the certificate of the deceased and started using it.
We have established that he migrated to Dedza where he did his secondary school education using the name of the deceased cousin combined with his real name of George Malemia. 10 years later after failing to pass MSCE for several years a 1998 Malawi School Certificate of Education examinations results notification slip obtained from Maneb for Examination Centre Number 083 at Mayani in Dedza indicates that candidate the names of two cousins who sat for PLSE at Chisitu in 1998 were combined to make one name as Nankhumwa Kondwani G. Malemia obtained the following results in the MSCE;
Agriculture - 7
Bible Knowledge - 4
Biology - 8
Chichewa - 5
English - 6
Geography - 7
Mathematics - 9.
We have also established that for whatever reasons and probably as a cover up, at Lobeni Village grave site, the headstone of the tombstone bearing the name of the late Kondwani Nankhumwa was extensively damaged by some unknown people in or around 2018 when news about the DPP legislator using a fake name of his late cousin first surfaced.
Following these revelations, political and social commentators have called upon the authorities to swiftly act on these reports in order to bring back the lost public confidence as questionable and dishonest public servants are not acceptable in modern democracy.
Before the dissolution of the cabinet on Friday by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, the fake Kondwani Nankhumwa served the country as Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development. He also previously served as Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Minister of Information and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in the previou
