Good morning good peoples!!! So... I missed posting my song for Cersle’s Music Sundays yesterday 😯.... I guess time got away from me until time found me sleep, lol. Nonetheless, I still wanted to share so I’m putting up something this morning. I always enjoy working with my college friends and this was one of those times! I had the opportunity some years ago to do some work with my friends Maureen Murphy and Matt Mangano who I attended Berklee with. Through that reunion, I was able to work with Zac Brown’s Southern Ground label & do Bgvs for some of their label’s projects as well as travel on the road. I’m so grateful for that opportunity. I was even able to reconnect with another Berklee-ite and Zac Brown Band member Clay Cook. Just so many gifted people that I was able to work with during that journey & I’m so thankful!!!! Well this week for Cersle’s Music Sunday, I’m going to feature one of my absolute favorite people to work with... my dear friend Ron Rawls, who is an amazing producer, songwriter, musician, arranger, singer, artist in his own right. Not to mention he’s a Grammy and Dove award winning producer as well as the music director for the Christian artist Mandisa! He’s so incredible and always a great pleasure to work with! This song was the first single he released as an artist called HEAVEN’S PERSPECTIVE and I had the honor of doing bgvs & vocal arranging. The song also features Maya Robinson who is an awesome up coming talent that I watched grow up from a young girl coming up shaping her craft in a church where I was minister of music for years. It’s funny how sometimes we do things not knowing what’s ahead & last week the song I chose was JESUS WILL TURN IT AROUND by The Mighty Clouds Of Joy & I mentioned that project was nominated for 2 Stellar Awards in 2008... well, although the project was nominated, it did not win in either category due to another amazing project that year by none other than the Rance Allen group that won in both of the categories that we were also nominated in. Everyone that knows me know that I’ve always LOVED Rance Allen & he’s a gospel icon that will never be duplicated!!!! So in honor of one of the greatest singers/artists of our time, tonight’s music choice will be one of my favorites, MIRACLE WORKER by the GREAT Rance Allen!! May he rest in heaven!! So like last week, I’ve decided share music that I’ve had a hand in creating whether it be my production, writing, arranging, bgvs or all of the above in hopes that it will bless and inspire someone. I’ve also decided to make it a weekly thing called CERSLE’S MUSIC SUNDAY!!!
