Sports holds a venerable position in our world today as in did in ancient Greece and Rome. For the spiritual you will discern the spirit behind it if you pay attention.

As disciples called out of this world may Yahweh help us by opening our eyes. Because many of us talk more about sports, follow it intentionally than we do Yahshua. keeping abreast of stats, events and star celebrities than the things of Messiah.

Hermes is given more honour than the king 🤴🏾

*We have with us today the worship of Hermes the god of sports and sport celebrities*

Just as in the Greco-Roman world of the 1st century, today sports and their sport stars are venerated in a cultic way. Sports is actually a religion in and of itself.

It has its devotees/worshipers who many respects pays homage to their particular star ⭐️- who celebrated in various ways.

Hermes is the god of Sports among other things. He watches over all sporting events- his spirit is responsible to keep it alive. To take care of athletes.

Ephesus was a 1st century idolatrous pagan culture given over to sexual immorality and cultic practices - mystery religions and Greek philosophies. Its patron goddess was Artemis [Diana was her Roman name]

Our faith was birthed Yerusalem and spread into the Greco-Roman world of which Ephesus was a part. The Greco-Roman culture which parallels our culture of the 21st century in many ways.

But why do I make such a claim that the spirit of pagan gods are still alive today? Let justify my claim 👇🏾

Behind every idols is a demonic spirit receiving and perpetuating the cultic worship. As they say, “The more things change, the more they remain the same”

We too live in an idolatrous pagan culture given over to sexual immorality in all its form - our societies too are filled with mystery religions and shaped by Greek philosophies. Like pagans of ancient cultures our western world serve many of their patron gods and goddesses - just under different names:
