The visionary leader, freedom fighter, and founding father of our beloved Ghana. His dream was not only for the independence of one nation, but for the liberation of an entire continent. With courage, conviction, and unshakable belief in the African spirit, he dared to declare that “the independence of Ghana is meaningless unless it is linked with the total liberation of Africa.”

Nkrumah’s life reminds us that true leadership is rooted in service, sacrifice, and an unyielding commitment to the people. His ideas on Pan-Africanism, self-determination, and unity continue to inspire generations across the globe. On this day, we honour not just his memory, but the timeless vision he gifted Africa -a vision of strength, dignity, and boundless possibility.

Let me be clear, I have no intention to continue tolerating the disrespect to Ghanaians by DStv.

If MultiChoice is not interested as they claim in their last statement, in discussing a reduction in prices as they had indicated to me, we would proceed to effect the shutdown tomorrow as indicated.

DStv indicated their willingness to engage the Ministry on its concerns on pricing and prayed us to stay our enforcement action. If they have changed their position, then we simply would enforce the regulatory action.

No company is above the law. When MultiChoice is ready to discuss price reduction, they can come to the negotiation table. Until then, there is nothing for us to meet over. The National Communications Authority Ghana would carry out enforcement.

Ghana is open for businesses that respect our laws and institutions. 🦁🇬🇭

President Mahama’s working visit to Japan and participation in TICAD 9 has delivered remarkable and tangible outcomes for Ghana.

Key accomplishments include:

1. Volivo to Dorfor Adidome Bridge across the Volta River has been revived. Both nations commit to immediately provide the additional funding required;

2. Kumasi inner city ring way project to commence shortly;

3. New agreement signed with Toyota to expand its operations in Ghana and make Ghana its West African hub;

4. Groundbreaking space agreement signed with Japan to leverage space science for Ghana’s development;

5. Ghana to benefit from training of a targeted 300,000 youth in AI, modern agriculture, green transition, tech-startups, and biotechnology;

6. Special cooperation anchored on latest scientific research to boost rice production in Ghana and attain food security;

7. US$100million secured for new agricultural projects;

8. Arranged a strategic industrialization partnership with Japan as Japan considers investing a dedicated US1.5billion in Africa in the short term.

It was a really proud moment to hear President Mahama articulate his bold vision for resetting and transforming Ghana during the two TICAD plenary sessions he chaired.

Ghana is back on the global stage to inspire and strike strategic partnerships for our collective progress.

Ghana - Japan relations couldn’t be better, 98 years after Noguchi sacrificed his life for the extraordinary love he had for our nation.
