Can I tell y'all something? Everyday ain't all smiles. In fact, the ones you see here took great effort. At times we are doing a beautiful dance, while other times we may not even want to be in sync. Can anyone else relate? What's important is that you push through, keep your commitments to your engagements and to one another.

Love each other… the kids are watching!

Studies conducted over the years have shed light on the remarkable effects that children with parents who love each other stayed in school longer, and are married in life longer.

One study shows that the more love between parents goes up, the more challenging behavior in the child goes down.

Great discussion on fatherhood at church this past Sunday, and we were so inspired that we wanted to share it.

So yesterday, I decided to do a workout in my HOT garage. Between the heat and the intensity, I honestly felt like stopping. As I sat on the steps for a quick break, I opened the door to the house to get a good breeze from the A/C. My youngest saw me and insisted on staying in the garage with me until I was done.

Y'all, he so lovingly encouraged me to keep going. He prompted me to take water breaks and even offered breathing techniques to get me through. I listened initially just to humor him, but his help was so sound, that I simply began to take heed. I got through it with his help.

These kids❤️❤️❤️

Whew, if there's one thing I've always known is outside my realm of capabilities, it is changing someone else's character. Yes, I believe that we have influence, but true change has to come from personal desire and effort. In the meantime, Imma take you for who you are today😜.

Shout out to the real ones!! Wouldn't be no Desperate for Grace (excuse my vernacular) if it weren't for these ladies! When it comes to mommas, God favored us. They love on us and our children. We pray that they always feel that we've reciprocated their love.

I'm changing how I pray for my man. If he's right with You, he's alright with me.

I pray that his thoughts are right with You because then they'll be right with me.

I pray he's seeking You cause I know he'll be leading me in the right direction.

I pray he's sensitive to You because then I'll know he'll be sensitive to me.

I pray he's listening to You because then I'll know he will listen to and hear me.

I pray he's trusting in You because then I'll know that I can trust his judgment.

Responding softly is not weak. It actually takes far more strength to hold back and be in control of your emotions. It defuses situations. Put it into practice and watch God work. Oh and listen to our latest episode of Desperate for Grace for full context.

This peaceful moment was brought to you by Julian's picnic just about two weeks ago. At about second 7, I zoom in on a bird. Could be a crane, a heron, honestly, I have no idea. What I DO know is that we'd been there no less than an hour. We picked our spot. We set up. We ate and even sang happy birthday.

He remained in that same spot the whole time. He was focused. We witnessed him catch some fish, yet he still remained.

Y'all distractions will ALWAYS surround us. Choose to stay focused on what matters most- your family, your marriage & your Savior.
