Spotify has already stated they are open to changing their payout model if there’s a general industry consensus. The current pro-rata model only pays out based on the percentage of overall streams to available money and doesn’t account for additional length listened or engagement, meaning that a 31s audio clip is treated equally to a 3 minute single.
