Today, on Belgian Women's Day, we'd like to remind you of the brand new CD release by Virago Symphonic Orchestra and Aurélie Dorzée, out since last Friday ⭐️

La Vie d'une Femme is a symphonic folk project about the life of a woman, from birth to death and everything in between. It was created in 2023 with the support of Vlaamse overheid and recorded at Le Delta in Namur on December 7th.

The word is out! This past Monday, Toneelhuis launched its new season, which Virago Symphonic Orchestra will be a part of. They will create a programme for 2025, called Women in Motion, which will include dance, movement, local Antwerp initiatives and, of course, a lot of music by female composers. Mark your calendars for March 8th and get your tickets now!

Soprano Elise Caluwaerts has just announced her Artist Residency at Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen this year and to our excitement, she plans to develop a programme around women and their position in art and music.

She kicks off her residency with her Meine Seele programme - an homage to Alma Mahler - on February 1st. Expect an evening of beautiful repertoire in combination with impressive artworks, included with your ticket for the museum on Thursday night. 🥂

We wish Elise all the best this year and can't wait to see what else she has in store for us! ✨

In september, VILT was unanimously voted in as a member of Antwerps Kunstenoverleg! We are honoured to have received the trust of our peers and look forward to contributing to our city's beautiful arts scene.

Amazing news for our VILT artists Alastair White and Poukens, whose project was shortlisted for the Digital Project of the Year by the British ✨ Stage Awards ✨.

A collaboration with Gemma A Williams, Zara Sands, Pieter Franssen, Hannah Lovell, fashion brand CHENPENG and Metaverse Fashion Week, this digital fashion opera is now receiving recognition for being an innovative and pioneering performance, pushing boundaries.

The award will be announced on January 29th, we're wishing all of these visionary artists the best of luck 🤞

Virago Symphonic Orchestra and Aurelie Dorzee are rehearsing for their new project this week! "La Vie d'une Femme" is an inspiring musical journey through the different phases of womanhood.

This beautiful programme is premiering on Nov 24th at La Ferme in Louvain-La-Neuve, and can also be heard on Dec 7th at Le Delta in Namur. More tour dates in 2024 to be announced!

Sylvia Boone in "Dochter" at Grachtenfestival
