Friends, Family, Fellow Humans: 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐍 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐉𝐄𝐂𝐓! All editions of the book are available now. This has been a labor of love for many years, to say the least. I'm thrilled that, like its protagonists, the book is finally heading out into the great unknown.
Like a centuries-long mission to launch zygotes off to distant exoplanets to carry on this great legacy of humanity, this book launch will take a true group effort if it's going to succeed. To gain momentum and exposure to a wider audience, a book launch needs as many orders in the first few days of release as it can get – 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬.
In truth, I am deeply uncomfortable with the implications of this request, in a time when so many need so many important things. But this work is so much more than "just a science fiction book" to me. A quote from "The Afterword (for Afterwards)" says it nicely:
"𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. 𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴. And so, if you like thought-provoking science fiction, if you believe that we can still make a better future, or if you just want to help me gain a little momentum in getting these ideas out into the world – do me an enormous favor and 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐞-𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤. And then, maybe, recruit a few friends to do the same. And because that is a big ask of all my friends, family, and fellow humans – honestly, from the bottom of my heart – THANK YOU!
