Five Abu Sayyaf bandits wishing to reunite with their families have surrendered in Basilan province: Farhat Kang Palluh, Amil Palluh, Merham Hasalal Palluh, Basri Tukul, and Omar Hajubain, all residents of Barangay Bohe Suyak, Ungkaya Pukan town, surrendered and turned over three rifles and ammunition following a series of negotiations worked out by the police and the Army’s 64th Infantry Battalion extremists.

In Barangay Cabatangan, authorities arrested an Abu Sayyaf Group member who was based in Sulu.
The suspect is Jun Arran Arip, 46, also known as "Jun Ayos," according to Col Paul Andrew Cortez, information officer for the Zamboanga City police.
Upon learning that Arip was going to Barangay Cabatangan to meet friends, the police detained him on arrest warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court in Sulu for murder and theft.
He was recognized as an adherent of Apoh Mike, a sub-leader of the ASG who is suspected of participating in a string of kidnappings in Sabah, Malaysia, and Sulu.

A motu propio investigation has been opened by the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) into the purported Abu Sayyaf attack that claimed the lives of three soldiers in Al-Barka, Basilan. According to the early reports, the victims were ambushed by at least six men while they were their route to a hill to take over the duties of another group of soldiers assigned to the 18th Infantry Battalion's army detachment.
The International Humanitarian Law and the right to life continue to be blatantly violated by arbitrary attacks, which the Commission continues to strongly condemn. Disproportionate and indiscriminate use of force is forbidden during armed engagements, according to IHL.

He was arrested for double murder based on a warrant of arrest issued by the Sulu Regional Trial Court. Government soldiers came into about 20 heavily equipped BIFF fighters while on patrol in the village of Damablac, Talayan, Maguindanao, according to the commander of the Army's 601st Infantry Brigade. The BIFF Bungos faction's Khadaffi Abdulatif-led fanatics dispersed. Soldiers were searching the area when they came across a deceased BIFF who had been left by his friends on a roadside. A unit of a two-way handheld radio was used as the trigger for an improvised explosive made of two 60 mm mortars, which was also discovered by the soldiers.

The influx of surrendered Abu Sayyaf Group members continues as another former violent extremist yields to the joint elements of the AFP and PNP in Isabela City, Basilan. The surrendered personality is now undergoing custodial debriefing at BPPO while his firearm was turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit of Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) for proper disposition. A Patikul-based Abu Sayyaf Group member handed over his M79 gr***de launcher to the soldiers of the 20th Special Forces Company in Patikul, Sulu. The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Patikul, barangays Bakung, Kadday Mampallam, and Kaunayan worked together with the 20SFC of the 6th Special Forces Battalion, led by Lieutenant Colonel Harold Nemeo, to secure the surrender of the aforesaid individual. 7 Abu Sayyaf bandits surrender

The latest ASG surrenderers were followers of Basilan-based ASG sub-leader Pasil Bayali and former ASG leader Nurhasan Jamiri, who surrendered along with 12 of his followers in 2018. The group turned over fi****ms that included a.30-caliber M1 Garand rifle, a.45-caliber pistol, and a revolver with ammunition. Surrenderers were involved in kidnapping-for-ransom, harassment, ambuscades, extortion, illegal drug trading, and other terrorist activities in Basilan and nearby provinces, including Zamboanga City.

At the same time, their surrender was that they were also surrendering their weapons, with an M14 rifle, a magazine, and a tube M203 gr***de launcher. Hon. On July 31, 2018, a bomb exploded in the town of Lamitan in Basilan, Philippines. Ten people died from the explosions with five of them being member of the CAFGU. The militant group, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the incident which it claimed as a su***de bombing.
