Dear friends and extended dance family,

I have some unfortunate and big news to share. A few weeks ago I suffered a heart attack. I was in the hospital for two days but am now home and doing okay. Now it's time for me to heal and reduce stress for the best chance of making a full recovery.

It came as quite a shock, but it made a lot of sense. The past year I have been struggling with feelings of burnout, exhaustion and overall being pushed to my limit. I now have an understanding of what was really going on.

The hardest part is the reality that I must step back from touring until I have recovered. I'm going to miss playing for you and seeing everyone's smiling faces on the dancefloor. Now it's time for me to focus on my physical and mental health.

In the spirit of bringing awareness to the importance of taking care of ourselves (especially those in the nightlife industry), I wanted to write honestly to keep the conversation going about self-care, stress reduction and finding balance in life.

I am happy to say that while I'm gone, Dave Dresden will be carrying the DJ torch at shows for both of us until I come back and am very grateful to him for his help.

Although the last weeks have been hard, I feel only positive changes in my life will come as a result.
