The Art of Growing
Relying on natural resources and natural weather in order to live and so to grow food is surely not a easy task, yet aligns so much with the natural rhythm of the all around existence
Waiting for the rainy season is essential for me to collect the big amount of water and especially to farm and to plant what I want and need to eat
The dry season here can be rough and this clay grown can become hard like a rock, so the rains allow the ground to be so welcoming, soft and gentle once again.
And sometimes the rains can be too strong and kill some of the baby plants, and at times they are just perfect for them to get that extra kick for the growth and stability needed in order to give fruits
So is life, a whole dance of challenges and learnings, a cycle of experience and wisdom
I have also heard this very farming and philosophical concept from a Polynesian brother (I couldn’t find his ig handle) and it is also what I experienced while I was in Samoa myself, and it is so beautiful to see that regardless where we are in the world, the natural life speaks of its ways in one Unique language
the Way
and remember that the way that can be spoken,
is not the real Way.
The Way can only be experienced.

My very fist large scale natural project I embarked
2020, myself, da Mensah (an elder from a close by village) and sporadic help from here and there. (Morenon my youtube channel, same handle ☺️)
Out of the 6 months 3 was basically alone.
The determination I had in order to finish was coming from the rain and the fact that my tent couldn’t hold me there anymore.
There was no choice than to learn, to become one with the surrounding and allow the alchemist essence within each of us to take over.
And so the soil became walls,
the bamboo a roof,
the crow-dung an insulator,
the garden my best mirror
Looking back was a crazy journey, and even when the house was leaking and partially collapsing, has been a journey that I wouldn’t trade for anything else.
Often we stop in front of a challenge because we fear failure.
But what if there is no failure but only growth?!
What if failure is one of the biggest western/modern illusion that keeps people far from their real potential and freedom?
Don’t get me wrong, I did have experience before embracing this project, yet all starts with the first step

Biogas ♻️
To create a source of external heat has been one of the most common and primordial act of human kind
An act that in the recent years has been completely monopolized by fossil companies that in the name of power and greed are polluting our own earth
All organic matters once exposed to a certain temperature produce gases.
This flammable gas you see here is called methane and it is a non-hazard gas that produces much more heat and light energy by mass than any other fossil fuel nowadays produces and apparently creates even less co2 that can contribute to unhealthy air. Environmentally speaking is a bomb 😍.
It can be generated basically from anything organic. So you don’t have to use your #2 😅
But since you eat : food scraps will always be; and since you eat: you will always be in need to go for a number 2.

then why not waste this very powerful resources and instead converting them into an incredible useful process that can benefit your planet and eventually even your house bill
The gas does not smell as of you might assume, and if yo I want you could still create a system that allows clearer release.
Biogas is surely an up-growing phenomena in nowadays world, yet it is often expensive and out of reach of our people in rural areas.
This is why I have been investing myself in creating a simple, recycled system that allows gas to be generated in the most accessible way possible
I still need to create a structure that would allow the gas to be generated in larger quantities and with enough pressure to come out all the way to the cooking area
(I’ve already seen already amazing projects that might get applied soon, but more ideas are welcomed in the comment section, keep it simple and accessible ☺️)
So far, we did generate gas, a small step for a single individual, a possible life changer for a whole society

Banana Peels Fillet 🍌
This is an incredibly tasty and nutritious meal coming from an often wasted component of one of the world most exported/imported consumed and also wasted fruit:
Banana
Crazy to think that Banana is the most common fruit especially in European and western country, yet it is a tropical fruit that doesn’t even grow within these colder environments.
90% of the bananas in western context gets imported from South-Central America and Africa, and so much of it gets actually wasted once arrived in the cozy homes of the many
Showing the post-colonial pattern of indigenous exploitation of our rich and wealthy resources and how this western unaware consumption leads to an unsafe amount of waste and pollution
(even when it is “vegan” the consumption and demand needs to be conscious of its origin, logistic and shelf life)
The peels is of course one of the most wasted part of it but here we have found an amazing way to transform it into a delicious and next level nutritional meal
-high in crude protein, crude fats and a bunch of mineral as in phosphorus, iron, calcium, magnesium and more.
60% + components of the banana plant are generally wasted, yet there is so much nutritional level within them, from the flower to the stem, and in many indigenous and rural environments the waste is drastically minimized by an embedded conscious consumption coming often by the direct interaction with the land

Brotherhood and the Natural Gym
Not sure how many of you know, but I have brothers that I share this land with, being a family land in the first place from my great-grandparents from the late 1800
