We’re very proud and excited to announce our collaborative project with the organisation Covid19 called “Time to Talk”!

Our aim is to engage more with an audience, especially those who are currently idle, in the hopes of entertaining and enlightening them on things going around all of us that need more of a spotlight on. By bringing in numerous different guests, we also wish to make use of the fact that many of these professionals, including but not limited to those of mental health professions, are mostly at home during this time and would thus hopefully be able to shed light on topics ranging from patriarchal societies, drug usage, racism, starting foundations, the youth and women of Bangladesh, etc.; all the while making connections to mental health and its importance.

Keep an eye out for our Instagrams where we’ll be asking you all to send in questions to ask the guests!

To truly make the most out of this somewhat unique pause in the world, we believe it’s time to have these stimulating conversations!

Researchers found the virus was detectable in aerosols for up to 3 hours, up to 4 hours on copper and up to 24 hours on cardboard.

COVID-19 can also last up to three days on plastic and stainless steel, the scientists concluded.

The corona virus is evolving and studies federally funded, done by the researchers from the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, UCLA and Princeton University examined how long COVID-19 survives in the air as well as on copper, cardboard, plastic and stainless steel and then compared it with SARS, the coronavirus that emerged in late 2002 and killed nearly 800 people.
They found that COVID-19 was detectable in aerosols for up to three hours, up to four hours on copper and up to 24 hours on cardboard. The new coronavirus can also last up to three days on plastic and stainless steel, the scientists concluded, adding the amount of the virus left on those surfaces decreases over time. Aerosols are solid or liquid particles that hang in the air, including fog, dust, and gas commonly used in medical procedures like ventilation and nebulizers.

So the virus can now be transmitted easily through air or on contact of contaminated objects.

On Saturday, 14 March 2020, Italy returnees stage protest inside the Ashkona Hajj Camp yesterday after they had been quarantined upon their return. The authorities didn't take any blood samples from them to test for coronavirus. An expatriate said, "We have been here for five hours. But no doctor or official came to test or examine us."
Another expatriate said, "I have three children aged between six and 11 with me. They have not eaten in 24 hours."
Being aware of the fact that Italy is the new epicentre of the coronavirus pandemic, the Italy returnees are very much willing to comply with the accurate quarantine codes. But
due to the mismanagement and lack of basic protective measures taken by the authorities many expatriates had fled. This has now put many more lives at risk of being affected with COVID-19.
On Sunday, 15 March 2020, a suspected COVID-19 patient fled from Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in the capital. The Bahrain returnee when showed all the symptoms of coronavirus, everyone including the doctors and nurses on duty started to panic. Amidst all these chaos the COVID-19 patient fled the hospital premises.
At present, the government has around 1,500 kits and around the same number of PPE, which experts say are nowhere near the stocks needed to tackle the situation. The government had around three months to prepare, but it clearly failed to grasp the gravity of the situation and act accordingly.
In the capital’s Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), four doctors had been handling a coronavirus patient without any sort of protective gear for over a week and now all four of them are in self-quarantine. Furthermore, no step was taken to quarantine the other patients of the ward where the Covid-19 patient was admitted.
With all these news emerging all of a sudden are making everyone rethink Bangladesh’s stances on tackling Coronavirus.

With regular late-night programming paused due to the global coronavirus pandemic, the late-night hosts are offering comedic relief from their respective houses which the most ideal thing to do in the current scenario. Many of them including Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Ellen DeGeneres have paused their live shows from Tuesday.
Meanwhile, in the capital of two crore lives; millions of people are roaming around the streets everyday with minimal to no protection. Here, in Bangladesh, neither gathering in tourist places have been banned yet nor the workplaces have been shutdown. It is imperative for individuals to stay in self-quarantine in their respective houses at this moment given the fact that Bangladesh has reported it’s first death case from COVID-19
