We was alerted to a serious accident on Wednesday afternoon of a Liebherr LTM11000DS owned by Sarens, the incident happened in AV Dawsons yard in Middlesbrough UK right next door to Sarens UK HQ. 🚨🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS 🚨🚨🚨

Liebherr have just released news about their new product, the Liebherr LTR1040.
This new crane is in response to customers wanting a smaller crane for the telescopic crawler crane market.

The main difference to the LTR 1060 is the significantly reduced ballast – the LTR 1040 weighs in at a total of 20 tonnes less. 10 tonnes of central ballast have been taken off the chassis whilst a further 10 tonnes of counterweights have been removed from the slewing platform.

But Liebherr have said that the LTR1040 can be upgraded back to a LTR1060 at anytime. Liebherr definitely does listen to what customers want and they do come up with the goods aswell, we are guessing that the new 1040 is just a downgraded 1060 but with new software and less ballast so maybe Liebherr could in the future offer customers who already own a 1060 the option for the lighter ballast and new software? Also Liebherr have added a new access ladder to the cab which in our opinion really doesn’t look the greatest of access.

Not the average crane going down the river Thames in London!

The floating sheerleg owned by Dutch company Bonn&Mees is on route to the London sewer project Tideway to lift out a TBM.
The Matador 3 has a maximum lift capacity of 1800ton at 5m radius. A truly awesome sight in London and Crane hub will have some more photos of it lifting soon.
