Have you noticed a shortage of food at the grocery stories? Experts are saying that this is only the beginning of a massive global food shortage. While this is certainly not positive news, we can start taking positive steps to prepare ourselves for this food shortage crisis. For example, start raising your own vegetables. Right now, we have so much mustard spinach growing in our garden so we shared some with our neighbor. One neighbor across the street shares his eggs with us from his free-range chickens. Our son's freezer is full of frozen wild pigs which he caught on his large property. Here is a link which explains the reasons for this global food shortage:

My wife and I were living on Kauai when Hurricane Iniki slammed into our island. We lost all of our aluminum roofing. Fortunately, there was an older roof under the metal roofing. However, every room was wet from the rain. We had about an inch of water in our kitchten floor. Fortunately, our hallway (where we hunkered down) stayed dry. Fortunately, I had covered the living room furniture and the carpet with a tarp. I also covered our beds with tarp. So we had dry beds to sleep on after the hurricane. My wife's parents who stayed with us slept in the living room on the dry sofas. Later, we used those same tarps to cover our leaky roof. Fortunately, we had a gas stove so we could still do our cooking. Friends from the Mainland sent us a reverse osmosis water filter so that we could have safe water to drink. Someone gave us a generator. Hurricane preparedness is important. You might want to consider joining the Virtual Resource Fair.
