From Grist to Glass Session Ale - A Cross between an English Pub Ale and a Session IPA. Hoppy, yet Malty.

The Gray Lady Grisette - A unique take on a classic coal miners session ale. We took a traditional French Belgian Recipe, used American Malts and New Zeeland hops. It's a slightly tart beer that is great for hot days. Take a look at the pre-carbonated Gray Lady.

Both beers will be available at Homebrew Showcase for All Our Kids 2022

When you start brewing at 7:00 a.m. you can't quite have beer yet. So I have the next best thing Hop Water from Hoplark. This Seltzer really accentuates the hops that are used. These two are sabro and mosaic.

The Start

Mike was born in Burlington, VT and lived there most of his life. Growing up in Vermont and being introduced to beer in a state with an abundance of quality breweries has shaped his palate, knowledge and love of craft beer. However, it wasn’t until he moved to Massachusetts and began brewing on his own that he learned to fully appreciate beer and its finer points.

During the last eight years Mike has won a local home-brewers competition and placed well in many others. With a desire to master traditional styles of beers, he has done a deep dive into learning about each style and its history.

Coming from a teacher’s background, he believes that it’s important to share the knowledge and history of beer with a wider group. After reading several brewing books and listening to numerous podcasts, he’s left with a sense that, while some of these resources are good, many leave something to be desired. In a sense, he had come to a crossroads. He could not find a podcast that fit into what he was looking for; one that was education-based, focused on a specific beer style, and gave corresponding home-brewing tips.

To find what he was looking for, he realized that it needed to be created and that is why we are here today. From Grist to Glass will cover all those things, leading listeners through the history and style guide for a style of beer, discussing tasting notes with friends, and concluding with home-brewing tips and a recipe so you can make one for yourself.
