Just like every project I take, my work takes longer than expected. I thought I was done with this last week, but even with as much trim installation, wood filling, sanding, sealing and primer as I’ve done in my two decades of DIYing, I’m still surprised how long it takes for each new project.

The last big thing I need to do is paint the light gray strips on the wall and then I'm ready to bring the new console and decorative accents.

I was hoping to have the living room (also known as the breakfast room) completely finished and be on track to share with you a lot of wide angle photos of all these finished areas, but as always seems to be the matter, I hit a little hook. I think. I’m not 100% sure.

When I originally finished this area, the rest of the room was far from finished. As the wall was balanced with nothing on the other side

I have felt a tremendous change of mind in the direction of our house over the past few weeks, and that has been quite awesome.

And even though our apartment was a very fun project for me, it was never completely finished, so it never really felt like home to me.
