WATCH: Reports.

Protestors chant: "Let's trade President Maia Sandu for wood!" More than 90,000 people took part in a protest against Moldova's government, according to Marina Tauber, vice president of the opposition Sor Party.

At the event, Tauber stated, "Over 90,000 people came out to protest the authorities." The authorities, according to the Sor Party, are irritated by such gatherings, so they "instill fear" in Moldovans and discourage them from taking to the streets.

"The Sor Party categorically denies all accusations leveled by the interior ministry that it is plotting to destabilize the situation at today's protest against poverty and crisis caused by the Party of Action and Solidarity," said organizers in a statement.

The party urged activists to keep the peace and to be on the lookout for potential police and Moldovan government provocations. "Representatives from the authorities and law enforcement agencies are at odds with Moldovan citizens.

We're not doing anything wrong, and we don't want to fight back, but being confronted by police officers armed with guns and batons is unacceptably harsh." Tauber stated this.

The Sor Party has been holding rallies in Chisinau in collaboration with the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova since mid-September. Protesters are outraged by the government's unprecedented increase in energy and food prices, as well as high inflation and a decline in living standards. Several polls show that roughly 60% of Moldova's population doubts the ruling Party of Action and Solidarity's ability to stay in power for another three years until the next parliamentary elections.

Furthermore, roughly 70% of Moldovans are unhappy with the government's policies, and nearly 65% favor a change in government. Moldova's core inflation rate averaged 6.26 percent from 2011 to 2022, peaking at 19.50 percent last month in September 2022.

Moldova also has one of Europe's lowest GDP per capita, with 4,551.13 USD per person.

JUST IN: Reports.

On Sunday, the Lebanese military alleged that Israeli naval gunships had entered Lebanon's territorial seas, violating Lebanon's sovereignty. The allegation was denied by the .

The most recent reported incident allegedly occurred on Saturday off the coast of Naqoura in southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese military, which also claims an Israeli vessel entered Lebanese territory for about 330 metres and remained there for 10 minutes before returning. Lebanon stated that this event was the most recent of several that had occurred in recent weeks and that they had brought up the matter with the UN Interim Force in Lebanon ().

The allegation has been denied by the Israeli military. There was no incidence of Israeli vessels violating the territorial seas on the Lebanese border, according to a statement from the IDF. The event occurred shortly after Israel and Lebanon declared they had reached a "historic" understanding about their shared maritime border in the Mediterranean Sea's gas-rich waters.

The exclusive economic zone offshore between Israel and Lebanon is controversial because Israel and Lebanon have never agreed to define their land border; instead, they adhere to a UN-enforced ceasefire "Blue Line". Prior to a gas discovery bonanza that started in the eastern Mediterranean a decade ago, which may have reshaped the region's economic future, the lack of a maritime boundary had not been a significant problem.
