At the age of 51, Chris S. Cornell (who goes by Biggest Comeback on X) found himself at a weight of 278 pounds, facing the realization that his health was spiraling out of control. Years of consuming foods that undermined his well-being had taken their toll. Even simple tasks, like climbing a flight of stairs, left him out of breath. It was at this critical moment that Chris decided to take action and find a solution that would change his life forever. In his search for answers, Chris discovered the transformative power of a low-carb lifestyle and sustainably lost 80 pounds. Inspired by Gary Taubes’ book, “Why We Get Fat,” he experienced a lightbulb moment while reading about how carbohydrates produce different effects in the body compared to proteins or fats. This newfound understanding ignited a spark of confidence within Chris—a belief that this could finally be the last weight loss journey of his life.

In this conversation, Dr. Brian and Chris talk about…

• How Chris’ personal health journey led him to low carb
• Chris’ cancer diagnosis and how his newfound focus on health and fitness aided his recovery
• Running, exercise, and nutrition
• The endurance athlete mentality
• Distance running and preparing for marathons
• Chris’ recent dietary experiment with the HLTH Code meal replacement shake
• Why a ‘weight loss at all costs’ mentality is not necessarily healthy
• Chris’ upcoming and current pursuits in the realm of nutrition and coaching

At 51, Chris S. Cornell ( on X) found himself weighing 278 pounds, struggling with his health. Determined to make a change, Chris embraced a low-carb lifestyle and shed 80 pounds, inspired by Gary Taubes' "Why We Get Fat." Chris shares his transformative journey, including how he dis...

Christopher Lee Maher is a retired US Navy SEAL, best-selling author, and holistic wellness pioneer regarded as the unparalleled authority in stress resolution, healing, personal evolution, and longevity. As a Navy SEAL, Christopher was in what appeared to be peak physical health and even spent time training for the Olympics.

What he didn’t realize was that his internal health was deeply compromised. Soon symptoms like joint pain, hearing/vision loss, and insomnia began manifesting.

Christopher was weighed down by what he calls “strauma” – a combination of stress plus time that transforms into trauma.

He went on to study at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and Yo San University, learning Traditional Chinese Medical Practices as well as Western science and pathology. Christopher’s own relentless search to evolve and heal himself led him to understand the correlation between the emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of existence. He developed a comprehensive program of total healing and integration called True Body Intelligence technology. TBI is a suite of systems focused on diminishing the excess stress stored in the body in order to resolve the fear, weakness, stress, tension, and distortion that holds people back from their unique and unimaginable potential.

Brian and Christopher talk about Christopher’s company, True Body Intelligence, the emotional/spiritual aspects of total health, how Chinese medicine and naturopathic tools can be used to help us achieve a state of peace, why Christopher became a Navy SEAL, important life lessons that Christopher learned from his SEAL training, how Christopher became interested in health/wellness, the place of faith in Christopher’s life and work, how to truly relieve and eliminate stress/tension by getting your nervous system out of fight or flight mode, cold stress states versus hot stress states, and what it means to be in (and remain in) a state of peace.

Thank you for listening. Have a blessed day and stay healthy!
