Hey, folks! It's been a while.

Due to YouTube's Algorithm, I've recently made the difficult decision to separate the Adapt / Overcome Podcast from my main YouTube channel. Moving forward, all episodes will appear on a new channel built specifically for the podcast.

Unfortunately, this will mean re-uploading the old episodes and starting from scratch when it comes to subscribers, views, likes, comments, etc...but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. That migration will start taking place some time in the not too distant future.

If you'd like to follow along (and I hope you do), you can find the new channel here:

What a special day!

Adapt / Overcome was one of the lucky selected winners of this year's My RODE Cast competition, prompting this wonderful prize package to arrive courtesy of RØDE Microphones!

This means that the podcast will be able to resume with an upgrade in audio quality. I'm tickled to death and very grateful to have been a selected winner.

Thanks, RODE!

It's been entirely too long...but finally, a new episode of Adapt / Overcome is here. This time, with my good friend and Army Veteran; Grover Bentley / RubyTalyn.

In this episode, we discuss the trials and tribulations associated with Grover's time in the military, as well as the constant struggles regarding his transition back into civilian life.

In this long overdue return episode, I sit down with my good friend and Army Veteran; Grover Bentley. We discuss the trials and tribulations associated with ...

To my absolute surprise, out of 156 current entries (that number WILL increase), I seem to be sitting at #17 right now for votes! This makes me feel like I actually stand a shot at winning this thing.

So if you haven't already, PLEASE...consider voting for my entry. This podcast means a lot to me, does some good for people who need it, and winning would allow me to come back stronger than ever.

You have to login via Facebook or Google to vote, but it only takes a minute and then you're done, and it would mean a lot to me.

Also, if you happen to think highly enough of me and/or the podcast to share this entry among your friends...well, that would mean a lot to me too

Adapt / Overcome is a Mental Heath podcast and passion project of mine, where I have unscripted conversations with guests who've all overcome some form of measurable life challenge, in the hopes that the details of their challenges (and how they overcame them) may help others to overcome their own,

Hey, folks! I try not to be that person who asks for favors, but I'm asking for a small one now...

After nearly a dozen failed attempts at receiving sponsorship for the podcast, I've decided to enter the "My RODE Cast" contest this year. This puts me in the running to win some equipment that would make resuming the podcast much easier, and grant me the ability to do so with superior quality.

If you could spare just a minute of your time to head over to this page and click "VOTE NOW" it would mean the world to me and would increase my odds of winning one of the available prize packs. You DO have to login, but you can do so via Facebook or Google.

After voting, if you happen to feel strongly enough about me or the purpose of the podcast and decide to share the link among your friends and family as well, I certainly wouldn't be saddened by that :)

Either way, whatever help you're able/willing to give, is immensely appreciated

There's no shortage of people who have been hit hard by the pandemic, many of which may never financially recover. Aside from the obvious in your face issues that brings about, there's no shortage of fears and concerns down the line that a lot of people have to think about as well. I think that in many cases, musicians are overlooked as part of that group, since much of a band/musician's income is based around large groups of people gathering, as well as large groups of people working together behind the scenes.

Recognizing that not everyone has the luxury of affording therapy right now (especially musicians), a friend whom I hold in high regard is part of a group that is offering a free musicians online mental health workshop. It starts in February and runs for 4 weeks once a week, and knowing the man personally, I highly recommend you consider signing up if the idea interests you even in the slightest.

After much consideration (and some coaxing by some friends), I've decided to start a Ko-Fi page for the podcast!

On this page, you'll have the option of supporting future Adapt / Overcome episodes in the form of donations which will go toward upgrading the equipment, and thus the quality of the podcast.

Please know that donations are of course not required.
Your moral support and viewership alone are of great value to me, and I thank each and every one of you for that.

If, however, you'd like to support the upgrading endeavor, you can do so here: https://ko-fi.com/adaptovercomepodcast

My most sincere apologies for the long silence, folks.

The future of the podcast is still alive and well, but other things have taken up the bulk of my free time lately.

Each podcast takes no less than 12 hours of editing before it's ready to be seen or heard, and unfortunately, several hours of that is due to equipment limitations.
A combination of said equipment limitations and lack of free time has resulted in the silence.

All the same, new episodes are still coming...just be patient with me

Merry Christmas, folks!

Eat lots, laugh more, and smile until it hurts.

For Episode 03, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Nicole Afra.

In this episode, we discuss Nicole's downward spiral into depression and drug addiction after being diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 19, and how now, nearly 12 years later, she's stepped away from the drugs and is managing her epilepsy better than ever.

On this day, I'd like to take a moment to thank our veterans, past, present and future, for their service to this great country.

The sacrifices that our veterans make which allow us to live the lives we do, often do not end when their service to this country does. PTSD and depression plague a significant number of veterans (even a small percentage of those who are not directly involved in combat), and the physical injuries that many veterans sustain create a lifelong battle with chronic pain, and this is only the tip of the iceberg regarding what our veterans often deal with once their service is done.

So again, thank you.
Truly, we would not be here without your sacrifices.

Happy Veteran's Day
