BIOGRAPHY
Nate Shriver has seen many a sunrise to know what the full experience of Techno and rave culture is all about. He’s spent years deejaying and defining his sound under the cover of night, making calculated moves in and out the shadows, stealthily plotting his ascent into the light. Like the desert sun rising from the east, Nate Shriver has been patiently rising, ready for his time to glow and brighten the landscape. As evident with his foray into full on music production and audio mastering, there’s not much that can hold him back.

After playing guitar and bass in Metal and Hardcore bands in the late 80’s-early 90’s Nate discovered the nascent electronic music of 90’s rave music; namely techno, house and drum n’ bass. Intrigued with the same sub-culture, counter mainstream ethos, but with an electronic edge, he feverishly started collecting vinyl and practiced deejaying any chance he could. Seamlessly mixing trance, house, breaks, and techno, Nate was immersed into America’s South West’s “underground scene” where he played countless events and desert gatherings. He quickly amassed a notorious reputation known for his slick mixing style and acute track selection. As N.A.T.E. (‘06-‘12) he became a local legend lauded by his peers and fans alike.

Imbued with his Metal/Hardcore influences, Nate’s intent with his music and mixing is to take your mind on a rhythmic journey, whether to a gleefully happy and enlightened place, or a descent into the dark and foreboding; sometimes both simultaneously. Like Gene Wilder’s W***y Wonka, he makes it clear….”We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dream.” And with a steady pace and focused path, Nate Shriver guides us through his factory of wonderfully hypnotic, rhythm heavy, brooding brand of Techno from which he reminds us….”You can’t get out backwards, you have to go forwards to go back.”

[HU] Szép jó estét, pácienseim: a PlagueState 223. alkalommal is két óra friss mixet ad annak, aki errefelé járna.

Az első órában az első tracket leszámítva mind még megjelenésre vár (a kivétel pedig tegnap), így itt nagyon friss anyagokból válogattam össze egy kissé house-osabb mixet. A kedvencem a 03-as a régies house hangzás jó modernizálása miatt. A második órában meglepően sok track már kijött (a 10-es a legrégebbi, ez két hete, de mind az utóbbi egy héten jött be), és itt kicsit kevesebb trance van, de a mix gerince ebből áll, és a 09-es jütt be nagyon a jövőbe látó hangzása miatt.

[EN] Good evening, my dear patients: for the 223rd time, PlagueState provides two hours of new mixes for people passing by.

In hour one, every single track is to-be-released, and the exception came out yesterday, so I have really worked with fresh material this time around to make a quite house-y mix. My pick here is 03 due to its oldschool-yet-modern sound. In hour two, surprisingly many have already been released (10 is the oldest, out since two weeks, but all were sent in the past week), and there are fewer trance tracks, although its core consists of that. I liked 09 a lot for its forward-thinking sound.
