OK, amazing! You took my advice and booked a content shoot... I’m going to pretend I’m not upset that you didn’t book it with me 😉

Ok but, here are the things that nobody tells you about doing a content shoot.

It takes longer than you think – Even if you plan for a quick shoot, lighting, retakes, and scene changes will eat up time.

You’ll use less footage than you capture – You might shoot a ton of content, but only a small amount will make the cut. Be ready to trim it down later.

You’ll get tired – Standing, posing, and repeating the same actions for hours is surprisingly exhausting.

You might feel awkward – Even the pros feel strange in front of the camera at first. Here’s my TOP tip: if you’re feeling uncomfortable, lean up against something or hold a prop. It works like a security blanket and makes you feel a lot more natural.

Consistency in your social media presence is vital for maintaining visibility, growing your audience, and building trust with your followers. Pre-planning content helps you stay on track and ensures that your message remains clear and cohesive. But let’s be real—life doesn’t always go according to plan. Sometimes, unexpected events or personal needs arise, and you have to hit pause on your content strategy.

It’s important to remember that taking a break doesn’t mean you’re failing or losing momentum. In fact, it’s a necessary part of balancing your personal well-being with your professional goals. When you allow yourself to pause, you give yourself the space to recharge, refocus, and return to your social media efforts with renewed energy and fresh ideas.

When you’re filming content, always think about where you’ll be posting it. Different platforms have different requirements, and making sure your videos fit those parameters is crucial. Shooting vertical is key for platforms like Instagram and TikTok, where vertical videos perform best.

Using Canva or other editing tools to modify your videos can help ensure they fit perfectly, without losing any impact. This little step can make a huge difference in how professional and polished your content looks.
