The warm anticipated greeting when walking into the barn. He seems to be thinking “what is the plan today?” His kind and patient eye waiting for the next command, watching to see me reach for the halter. The feeling of contentment felt when touching the leather and excitement for the afternoon ride.

Hey y’all!

Co-host Sarah McEntire here.

I am SO excited for this journey Bethann asked me to be a part of. Thank you to each and every person that has supported us thus far and thank you to each and every person in advance for your support in the future.

Growing up around horses has been an opportunity and blessing I thank God for each and every day. Without these four-legged creatures He put on this earth I would not be where I am today, or the person I am today.

I like to say I was blessed to have the best of both worlds and here is my story. Starting out losing confidence after falling off at the wee age of two-years-old, two years later my stepfather told me if I were to work cows at home I would need to ride. Some may see this as harsh but he only believed in me more than I believed in myself and the rest is history. My father, a reining horse professional, provided me a show horse, Milano Flash at eight-years-old, this opportunity led me to be recruited as an NCAA Athlete for a Division 1 school. At Texas A&M we went on to win a NCEA National Championship and memories and best friends for a lifetime.

A fun fact about me is that I am left-handed. I ride, write, shoot and eat left-handed, although I throw a ball right-handed. So I may be partially ambidextrous!?

We have so many exciting things planned for this podcast and we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy doing this for you all.

Thanks, God bless & gig em’ forever.

Meet one of the hosts!

Bethann Coldiron was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She started riding at a young age at an English barn. After taking a break from riding to focus on her training as a classical musician, Bethann was able to start riding again in her late teens. She briefly rode Saddlebreds and grew to develop a deep love for the breed. At 20, her mother surprised her with her first horse, a little flea-bitten grey Arabian.

Bethann now focuses on ranch pleasure, ranch riding and ranch trail on the Appaloosa circuit. She has a 4-year-old appy gelding, Knight In White (whose barn name is Monty), and another 4-year-old Palomino named Louis.

Bethann has an A.A.S. in equine science from Weatherford College and a B.S. in journalism from Tarleton State University. In college she had an agriculture radio show. She worked in mainstream news as a reporter, and later in her career as an editor and has won several awards for feature writing.

She currently lives outside of Little Rock, Arkansas, with her husband of five years, Tyler Brantley, who is an officer in the Air Force.

🎙Fun fact! Bethann is a self-proclaimed nerd. One of her favorite podcasts is “The Adventure Zone,” a Dungeons and Dragons style podcast by the McElroy brothers.

We are also looking for topic suggestions, so please feel free to message us!

Equi-Talk is a podcast aimed at the equine community and involves all things horses. Join Bethann Coldiron and Sarah McIntire each week as they speak to an interesting guest.
