Omer Lesham, tenor saxophone; Moshe Elmakias, piano; Nadav Remez, guitar; Elam Friedlander, bass; Ben Silashi, drums.

On piano, Moshe Elmakias opens Omer Leshem’s album with a line that sets the tone and tempo for this production. It’s called “Twilight Hymn” and feels a little Latin at first until Omer Leshem enters on his tenor saxophone.

Making a Scene presents Gerry Casey’s Interview with Ronnie Riddle of Preacher Stone

Preacher Stone began as guitarist Marty Hill’s vision of creating a world class southern rock band in the image of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Hill enlisted lead vocalist Ronnie Riddle. The first song the two wrote was “Not Today” which appeared on the Fox Network’s hit series “Sons of Anarchy” which gained the band notoriety in the southern rock world and lead to the band being exposed to a worldwide audience through the Lynyrd Skynyrd Simple Man Cruise and the Rock Legends Cruise with ZZ Top.

Making a Scene Presents a review from Richard Ludmerer on the new release from Delmark Records from Willie Buck and The Delmark allstars "Live at Buddy Guy's Legends"

William Crawford a.k.a. Willie Buck was born in Houston, Mississippi. Buck relocated to Chicago in 1953. Though just a teenager an older relative snuck him in to see Muddy Waters when Muddy was still in his prime. The sound of that classic band had such an impact on Buck that he still performs in the style he heard that day. In fact, Buck is considered the standard bearer of the old school Blues.

Making a Scene Presents an Interview with Stephen Jacques

A true artist and songwriter world-renowned for his prolific, heartfelt alt-rock love songs, Stephen has released ten albums to date, with his eleventh on the way. He is produced by Steve Albini. His body of work was culled from a lifetime of experiences, including those as an engineer, a Hollywood actor, a custom builder, and a TV host. Though Stephen lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, his family hails from New Orleans and New York. His Italian grandfather was a multi-instrumentalist during the roaring 20s and an aunt on the French side of his family was a fabulous blues singer.

While this is only their third Blues Collection, they previously had a spattering of blues on all of their previous sixteen releases. Kelly’s Lot has played strictly blues since the first night they hit the stage at the Roxy in Hollywood. “The Blues Remind Me” is a follow-up to 2021’s live album “Where And When”. All of the songs were written by Kelly Zirbes and guitarist Perry Robertson. In 2023/2024 Kelly’s Lot played all over Southern California, Texas, France and Croatia.

Making a Scene Presents a review from Tom Clarke on the new release from Joe Ely "Driven to Drive"

As one of the forerunners of the progressive country music scene out of Austin, Texas in the early 1970s, Joe Ely made music with his partners Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock in the Flatlanders, and as a solo artist, that rebelled against convention all the while embracing it. Over the ensuing years Ely’s music has run the gamut from tough country to honky-tonkin’ swing, sweeping southwestern balladry, rockabilly, and blazing rock and roll and the blues.
