As mentioned in a previous email to our backers, we are currently leveraging the alpha build to test new map layouts for the beta build and promote existing workshop support. Therefore as promised we are making some improvements to the alpha build so we can use it for testing new maps, characters and weapons before the beta. Here are some patch notes for an update that is being rolled out right now on Steam...

- included new beta maps in alpha build for testing (not yet public, currently in private testing)
- migrated to new skeleton/character assets (not yet public, currently only visible in armory)
- implemented a new armory menu which will eventually support character and weapon customization/skins
- setup new saving system for controls/bindings
- updated collision to allow aiming/firing while your player is inside foliage such as bushes (this does not yet apply to gr***de arcs)
- scaled up smoke gr***de particle effects
- prevented ultrawide screens from having distorted visibility (16:9 limit)
- fixed issue with breach explosions not replicating over the network
- disabled aiming/right-click while firing (reload glitch)
- addressed potential problem that causes a double reload
- updated chat widget with auto-focus (you can now type immediately after pressing Y or U)

Also these alpha updates are currently being worked on...

- implement new end round stats screen
- setup map file version tracking to prevent "corrupted data" (needed for "create your own server" feature)
- provide new admin panel that allows managing your own custom server (map list, game settings, workshop items)
- taunting/dancing on dead enemies
- improved jump mechanics (such as jumping over railings)
- update climb animations to achieve faster climbing
- experiment with flashbangs (if time permits)
- new scoping/aiming mechanics (if time permits)

Keep in mind many of these updates are temporary and only improve the quality of life on the alpha build. Other than map, character, and weapon assets (which we are now testing in the alpha before migrating to the beta) everything else will be brand new in the beta (such as the engine, animations, performance, user interface). So these alpha updates are not as high of a priority when compared to finalizing assets for the beta (such as maps and characters).
