Happy Monday !!
I will be celebrating my 12 year anniversary of my first show on WWOZ tonight. The anniversary is actually tomorrow, but I had the opportunity of subbing for Gentilly Junior tonight. As serendipity would have it that is the first show that I substituted on 12 years ago tomorrow. I am doing a show that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and decided tonight is the night. It will be a tribute to the Radiators with all songs being songs that the Rads have performed live over the years. Many of you know but for the record the Radiators are my favorite band ever and I’ve seen them over 300 times in 23 of our 50 United States. Most of the show will be old classics that the Radiators made their own as well as some originals. Tune in tonight from 7-10pm on WWOZ 90.7FM New Orleans or www.wwoz.org

In a couple weeks I’ll be celebrating one year doing Homespun Americana on Sundays from 2-4pm. What an honor it is to share music that means so much to me. Attention Attention!!

I’ll be hosting a special Xmas Eve edition of Homespun Americana tomorrow Sunday from 2-4pm on WWOZ 90.7fm New Orleans or www.wwoz.org.
Two hours of Americana Xmas music with most tracks that you’ve probably never heard before including tracks from Kitty Wells, The Subdudes, Joy Clark, Jerry Douglas, The Band, Hayes Carll, Allison Russell, John Hartford, Dan Hicks, Allen Toussaint, Tim O’Brien and many more.
No Saints game to compete against although I’m not sure they’ve been much competition this year.
Tune in and get in the spirit of the season.
