Sitges will be celebrating the Corpus Christi festival in the same style as before the pandemic. The programme of events shows the emblematic flower festival will once again be celebrated in its full splendour, after the restrictions of the last two years due to the pandemic.
Floral ‘carpet’ displays, traditional processions, carnations and complementary activities fill the agenda for the weekend of 17-19 June, with other events lasting eight more days.
American singer Bruce Springsteen will start his 2023 European tour at Barcelona’s Estadi Olímpic. His only concert in Spain will take place on April 28 - his first visit since his last performance in Catalonia in May 2016, when he also chose Barcelona as the starting point for his European tour.
The ‘Boss’, as he is known, will be accompanied by The E Street Band on a tour with stops in Dublin, Paris, Rome, Munich, Amsterdam, Zurich, Oslo, Copenhagen, Vienna, and other European cities. Concert locations and dates in the United Kingdom and Belgium are yet to be confirmed.
The world tour will start in February in the United States. The last world tour, ‘The River Tour’, finished in February 2017 in Australia after 14 months of concerts.
The last time Springsteen came to the Catalan city, he performed at Camp Nou, the FC Barcelona football stadium. The American singer will perform at what will be the team's temporary field as the Camp Nou undergoes renovations.
Tickets will go on sale for €65 to €125.
Springsteen’s close relationship with Barcelona
Barcelona has been the only tour date in Spain for many international artists. In 2015, Madonna, U2, Bjork, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé, to name but a few, chose the Catalan capital to present their latest albums and in many cases offered more than one concert.
However, Bruce Springsteen deserves special mention. He has visited Barcelona more than 12 times since 1981 and some of the concerts have been real milestones. The Catalan capital hosted a double concert on the E Street Band reunion world tour, in 1999, and in 2002 ‘Live in Barcelona’ was the first Springsteen album to be recorded outside of the United States.

Sitges Welcomes Bears to Spring Bears Weekend 2022
Sitges welcomes this week a new edition of the Old Jazz Festival Sitges which is held from 6th to 10th of April. The contest includes the performance of 50 musicians who will perform in different entities, establishments and streets of the village. The main event of the contest is the traditional Jazz Parade Antic Sitges, the parade with most of the musicians of the festival, on April 9 at 7 pm.

Some good news!! The Catalan government has announced that it will be lifting one of the last remaining restrictions in place to combat the spread of Covid-19.
On Friday 11 February, nightclubs will be allowed to re-open in Catalonia, government spokeswoman Patrícia Plaja announced today without Covid restrictions of opening hours or capacity limits.
