In light of recent events in Niger, where the democratic government has been forcibly overthrown, there is a pressing need for a military intervention by ECOWAS to restore the legitimate leadership and safeguard democracy. ECOWAS intervention is crucial for the stability and prosperity of Niger and the wider West African region.

ECOWAS has consistently affirmed its commitment to democratic governance through initiatives like the ECOWAS Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance. It must take a proactive stance in Niger to fulfill its mandate, ensuring free and fair elections, respect for constitutional rights, and preserving the democratic process.
