I regularly stumble over my words.

I can’t pronounce the word rural.

My audio occasionally goes a bit funny.

There’s folks that have been doing this longer than me.

I’m not always the best at adapting to new technology.

I created the podcast with very little experience.

My ego needs a good massage now and again.

But there’s a whole heap of people who regularly listen to the podcast.

Folks who have changed their entire outlook on the industry off the back of it.

You don’t need to doubt yourself.

You might not tick all the boxes.

But you might tick someone’s.

I'm proud to be on the committee of The ADINJC.

It’s a wonderful organisation and, over the last few months, I’ve seen the inner workings.

There’s some good people doing a lot of good work.

But whatever venture I take, whether it’s the NJC, the IMTD, or any other exciting project that may pop up 😉

The Instructor Podcast will always be independent.

Will I support places such as the NJC?

Yes.

I did before I was on the committee.

The Instructor will always support and work with good folks doing good things.

When the podcast first started, there was only really The DITC that championed anyone else.

I’m proud to carry on that mantle.

From independent instructors who have something interesting to say, to international business folk.

If I like it, I’ll support it.

Listening back to our review of the year, I was pretty downbeat.

I wasn’t enamoured with the direction the industry went in 2024.

However, I’m currently full of optimism.

Some of the announcements that came out in January are really promising.

And I’ve just heard about another exciting project.

Plus I’ve got my own plans to better help support instructors.

Yep.

I think 2025 has potential.

The Instructor Podcast won’t be successful unless I focus on the Standards Check.

Thankfully I didn't buy into that advice.

Now, the number of instructors looking for development beyond the SC continues to grow.

Entire seasons based around road safety have thousands of people listening.

Will I release SC/P3 based content?

Of course.

I have, and I will.

But there's a whole world of exciting CPD out there to explore.

Next up…

Health.

The Instructor Podcast will be back in the Spring.

We’ll be looking at physical and mental health, with a bit of mindset thrown in for good measure.

Until then, there's currently 223 episodes to get stuck into.
