Here’s a sneak peak from our next video. I met this person through a writing class in 2020 and didn’t learn until later who they are and what they do, and when I did, I was awestruck. Every time we’re out for lunch, so many people come up to them, I feel like I’m with a celebrity. A celebrity with very good taste in hamburgers. Here’s a little behind-the-scenes shot from our next video. We made these videos to show you a day in the life of someone who’s job you’ve either never thought about, or thought about a lot, but didn’t have access to. This next video (out on Thursday) is about a job I didn’t know existed until I went to work in a bookstore, and then it blew my mind.

This book has no business being this good, but man, it really is. First and foremost, listen to the audiobook. You have to hear Dave read it, plus there's music. Honestly, I would listen to it again. It's that good.⁠

This book is tender, respectful, and funny. Turns out, Dave's a great memoir writer! I'm Gen X, so I was big into Nirvana and the whole grunge scene in the nineties, and I was in high school when Kurt Cobain died. When Dave gets to that part of his story, he mentions that he was 25 when Kurt died and I felt such a connection to that story because I was 25 when I experienced my first major death/grief/trauma. You think you're old at the time, but at this age, looking back, you see how young you were and you feel so much sadness at having to experience something so big when you were so young.⁠

Anyway, read it - listen to it if you can. It's a great book. Five stars!⁠
