A FRIEND!

We all have friends,we would meet friends,we would find friends, some would find us but the question is, which kind of FRIEND?

A good FRIEND or a BAD FRIEND?
Generally, a FRIEND is someone who is on your side.

A friend is a partner
One who stays with you when it's convenient and when it's not.
One who loves you to your face and loves you behind your back
One who is honest
A friend defends
A friend might pretend to others but is always real with you.
One you can trust, who's honest and loyal.
Honest enough to tell you when you're not being a good friend yourself
Someone who loves you
Someone you don't have to change for
Sticks with you through thick and thin.

🤓The truth is, Everyone wants a good FRIEND

️👉Some people only want to surround themselves with people who will tell them what they want to hear and do what they want them to do.

👉We forget that,if we want a good FRIEND,we need to be a good FRIEND, only then would we truely understand what it means to have a good FRIEND.

Someone you respect and who respects you

Someone you trust and who trust you

A friend is one who's loyal and makes you wanna be loyal

Someone you don't have to TALK to communicate with

One whom you know his or her flaws but you don't even think about it

One you forgive no matter what they do

A friend is someone you try to help even when you don't know how to

One you tell is been stupid without making them feel stupid

Someone you could sacrifice your happiness for

You like them for who they are

You understand their silence

One you can stick with through thick and thin.

☝️A FRIEND mustn't be your LOVER
A FRIEND and a LOVER performs same roles in our life except for the sexual aspect which isn't a part of FRIENDSHIP.

Having a FRIEND🤗 as a LOVER💖 is the sweetest thing that can ever happen to you.

I HOPE YOU FIND A GOOD FRIEND BY BEEN ONE!!

Across the world, these women and men have stood up in the face of disease and braved grave dangers
These tests are believed to have been integral to halting the virus’s spread in the country, saving many lives. Such a feat would not have been possible without the expertise of round-the-clock medical staffers dedicating their nights and days to the public good.

In some cases, hospital staff have even lost their own lives in the effort to protect those of others. In , where the virus was first detected, more than 3,300 healthcare workers have been infected with the coronavirus, including Doctor Li Wenliang, who was among the first to warn about the virus and died in February from the disease.

The coronavirus pandemic has brought much in this world to a temporary standstill, and for those seeking to protect themselves and their loved ones, life in these times can sometimes feel frozen. But if there is one thing that ought to inspire confidence and deliver comfort, it is the knowledge that, whatever changes the pandemic may bring to our lives, the hard work of our doctors, nurses and others who support them in this fight continues

Fake News Spreads Faster Than COVID-19

Conspiracies and lies have dominated the media in recent times. These are brought to bear through transmission of fallacies as news forging and creating imagery of news story that never occurred, exaggeration of events at no time transpired. Fake news otherwise known as false news is a big threat to humanity.

According to Wikipedia, fake news is written and usually published with the intent to mislead in order to damage an agency, entity, or person, and gain financially or politically, often using sensationalist, dishonest, or outright fabricated headlines to increase readership, and earn advertising revenue from the activity.

In our world today, the rate of false news is so alarming, deluding and brainwashing people with information void of fact and accuracy. In sense that, the writers makes use of strong verb, sensational headlines, and action words to draw the attention of people making them believe in their fabricated stories.

Fake news has a great effect in the brain of its audience like hypodermic injection and the effect of a bullet to the human brain, spreading so fast in a twinkle of an eye.

“We are not just fighting a pandemic, we are fighting an infodemic," said Tedros Abraham Adhanom Ghebreyesus, head of the World Health Organisation in an interview.

"False news spreads faster than the virus and is just as dangerous," he added.

However, there have been several fake news in different form moving round town, cities and countries about the novel COVID-19.

“Recently, a conspiracy theory-laden, documentary-style video titled “Pandemic: The Hidden Agenda Behind COVID-19” took on a life of its own even after the original one was taken down.

“The video, lasting for more than 20 minutes and viewed more than tens of millions of times, sheds light on a string of questionable, false and potentially dangerous coronavirus theories that the pandemic was planned, the coronavirus was manufactured in a lab, that it's injected into people via flu vaccinations and that wearing a mask could likely make one sick.

“It also attacks the record of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and promotes unproven treatments.

“The “Plandemic” video has been removed from big social media platforms, but small clips are still available on YouTube and full versions of it are still can be seen on some fringe websites with lax regulations.

“This is just one typical example of tens of thousands pieces of misinformation on social media which have become incubation ground and megaphones for the creation and broadcast of misinformation and conspiracy theories amid the COVID-19 pandemic” another report purported.

In addition, false news intoxicate people with fear, giving them bad mindset about issues and creating panic into people's mind about the virus.

If strong laws are not enforced against false news, more persons will eventually die of infodemic than pandemic. Our problem won't be pandemic but spread of false news affecting lives.

Stay or go

I've reached the cross road
Where I g*t to ask
Should I stay or Should I go?
Still lost in me
Oh mama! Save me from myself

Staying brings back all the memories
Sweet and bitter all in one
But the bitter is well-built
Filled with scars not to be forgotten
Oh mama! Save me from myself

There's freedom in leaving
For life is meant for the living
I still find myself breathing
So why not go when I still can
Oh mama! Save me from myself

I'm not a poet,I write to express 👌.

COVID-19: Nigerians, what is our hope?

On the 27th day of February 2020, the first case of COVID-19 was announced by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) following indepth tests and analyses. However, this month (May) makes it approximately three months that we have been suffering from coronavirus with over 4000 cases including discharged and death occurrences disclosed by NCDC.

Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Mohammed Buhari had adopted different strategies and numerous efforts to halt the spread of COVID-19 but, all seems ineffective. Thus, widespread of the contagious virus have created a worrisome effect in the minds of the citizens with many pondered with question like; “when this virus go commot?” meaning, when is this virus going to leave. Staring at our incapability to produce a vaccine, a question came to my mind; what is our hope?

Our hearts are pierced with pains and afflicted with sadness concerning COVID-19 as cases confirmed by NCDC is beyond our imagination and expectation since the 'stay at home' order is duly observed among the citizenry despite the fact some individuals are faced with hunger.

The virus have rendered families hungry, afflicted beggars with tears, those who survived by daily income helpless, market sellers indebted, and most business sectors useless as most individuals have taken responsibility to respect the government directives.

Subsequently, great Nigeria Students have been sitting at home lost with no or little vision of when they're resuming this year.
Different questions have been in the minds of these learners viz; Are we going to graduate this year? Are we going to write WAEC and SSCE this year? Are we going to enter another level this year?

Meanwhile, e-learning ordered by the Government sounds ludicrous as most of the parents are petty traders, technician, civil servants whom are incarcerated at home and highly affected by the pandemic without money to fend for themselves let a lone affording money to subscribe data for their kids in order to access the e-learning programmes.

More also, the Almajiris are not left out in the tale; they are reportedly ignored by the government, experiencing hardship and contacting the virus due to hunger.

“O Lord /Allah save us from COVID-19” has turned to regular prayer point by most churches and mosques indicating only our creator can save us in this country.

In summary, our incompetency to produce vaccine and limit the spread have landed us into different sphere of failures; clampdown in our economy, lack of medical facilities, depicting the fact we have noisy governments with no possible solution to the current situation we find ourselves. When the leaders can't lead themselves and provide solution to problems, what is the hope of the mass? This is a rhetoric that calls for our sincere answers on the part of the citizenry.

CBN asked to immediately order the arrest of Prophet Odumeje

Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has urged the Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, to order the arrest of the controversial Onitsha based prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere also known as Odumeje.

HURIWA wants Odumeje arrested for his serial abuses of the Nigerian naira and other denominations during his public ceremonies in Onitsha.

The National Coordinator Emmanuel Onwubiko and the National Media Affairs Director, Zainab Yusuf on Sunday in a statement said it had resolved to write officially to the Minister of Finance, CBN governor and President Muhammadu Buhari to implore them to defend the naira against global defacing of the naira notes.

“We have watched with disappointments as this self-professed prophet Odumuje kept abusing and defacing the national currency and both the Police and the CBN have failed for many months to stamp their authorities and prosecute these serial abusers of the national currency,”the statement reads.

“We ask the CBN to ensure that that the legal provisions that should have protected the naira notes from abuse which are today being observed more in the breach than in compliance should be reversed.

“It is true as observed recently by a patriotic citizen that quite disappointingly, CBN and the security agencies have had their eyes glue-closed while the nation and its inhabitants suffer from preventable abuses of the national currency.

“Just as we reaffirm and re-echo the fact as stated by an observer that as it were, the law against abuse of naira has been in place for over a decade, yet the CBN is still at the stage of “awareness creation” and “sensitization” of the citizens whereas religious houses are openly celebrating the abuses of the national currency which is a legal tender that ought to be respected by the citizens and everyone in Nigeria.”

HURIWA recalled that according to Section 21(3) of CBN Act 2007 “spraying of, dancing or matching on the Naira or any note issued by the Bank (CBN) during social occasions or otherwise howsoever shall constitute abuse and defacing of the Naira or such note and shall be punishable under Sub-section 1 of this section.”

Who? (Conti...3)

In some cultures, the wife is been subjected to different forms of sacrifices and rites, just to prove her innocence. She's been forced to swear,to wear Black for months, her God given hair been shaved, she's Locked up in a dark room, all! Just to prove her innocence.
A year after the wife's death, the husband is seen with another woman and he's considered as a "strong man" who's trying to move on with life,he's been congratulated for it.
A year after the husband's death, the wife is seen with another man and she's been called all sorts of names like prostitute,a witch, a killer"she killed her husband" etc. What's really our crime?🤷
Dear God,
I still wanna ask you why you gave women 'womb' instead of men?. You know how painful it is for her to carry a baby for good nine Months but yet you still choose her,why not him? Since he's more stronger, don't you think you are been unfair to her?.
Birth outside marriage are highly stigmatized with unmarried mother's,why?. They face ostracism, including violence from family members and the society.
S*x outside marriage remains illegal for the female folks, when it comes to the male "it's in their nature" funny isn't it?
Women in politics are under represented in government, our religion isn't even helping matters.
She's facing the family, the general community and the state and yet,she isn't giving up, she's getting stronger day after day
Who?, A WOMAN!!!
Thumbs up to all the ladies, sisters and mother's in the house!!! May God continue to uphold 💪and direct us🙏.
you are born of a woman, one word for her👩‍❤️‍👩!

Who? (Conti..2)

The other day, a young lady 🤔 Should I say mistakenly or angrily slapped a guy who was harassing her publicly and it was Asif she had killed somebody, people started g*thering and all they could do was to blame the girl for slapping him," how dare you slap a guy,she has no right to do that"......those were the words coming out from their mouths. If it was to be the other way round,no one would blame the boy, they would say she probably over reacted that's why she got the slap,oh yeah! She deserves it.
When it comes to our fashion, clothing and dress codes, a woman's choices in regards to dress is not always free, with laws limiting what they may and may not wear.
Then we grow from been a lady into a woman and boom!!, she's ready for marriage, the man walks into your life and changes everything starting from her father's name to his, just like that. At this point you're to put your family ahead of your career, all because you are "the home maker",then what is he?,"the head of the house, who decides what is and Should be done without been questioned".
The inequality at home hampers with women's opportunities. Career or professional women are generally considered responsible for domestic labour and child care, which limits the time and energy they could devote to their careers.
A husband is justified in hitting or beating his wife under certain circumstances or probably she 'pushed'him but as a woman, for no circumstance or reason Should you raise your hand on your husband, not even for a defense,if you should you would be taged a witch, she is using charm on her husband, she's a wicked wife, stupid woman etc. In some culture, stoning a woman as a punishment for adultery is supported,,but when a man does, they say "it's in their nature",,oh! How unfair life is😣.
If the wife dies, it's"the will of the lord", but if the man does,," it's not ordinary,he was killed, chai what a wicked world.

Who?

All I wanted was to see the world, still don't understand why I was been caged in my Mama's womb for months.
Nngen! Nnegen!! Nngen!!!...here I am, a cute innocent baby girl, crying 😭and smiling at Same time ☺️. Wow!!! That fresh air! I felt freedom for the first time💃.
Growing up to realize that my activities and opportunities is been limited, why? Because I'm a GIRL 😔.
My younger brother was easily considered as a man but I had to clock 18 before I could be considered as an adult. I was meant to stay in the kitchen with Mama while he goes out to play and comes back to eat. I do almost everything in the house while he does almost nothing and when I complain, all I get to hear is "he's a MAN, his duty is to provide for the family",wait, and who says I can't provide for the family?
In school
We ladies are meant to assist the guys irrespective of our age. We are are positioned : Asst time keeper,Asst class captain, Asst course rep.....etc. who says we can't be time keepers, class captains, course reps...etc.
Oh! I can never forget this day,I was going home for break. I got to the park early to pick the front seat cause it's more comfortable.Minutes later, the driver came to me and was like "sister, come sit down for back make this guy dey front", goodness God😲,I couldn't believe he was saying I should go chock myself up at the back for this guy who's just coming to seat comfortably. I said " sorry I can't,he should also go and seat at the back and guess what?! ,He was like "sista na MAN oh", the other passengers were like"come oga what's the meaning of that na,abeg leave the lady make she seat down, at least she come before the guy",I just sat there like a dummy, Asif I wasn't hearing anything ,when he noticed I wasn't gonna change seat,he did the needful.

I have come to realize!

Mum

She wanted me to be a science student,as for me I loved art. I could do vertically anything with my pen, i love creativity.
First term SS1, I came home with my result, it was poor,20th position 😥,my eyes was red hot all through that day.
Second term result was worst
Even haven received gift of been the best student in English language,I still got P in biology, P in physics,P in maths 😏😭 gosh!! Mama I can't go on😔.

High school

It's a place everyone wants to be,a place we get to be real and be fake sometimes just to blend and to feel among.
Here's my friend Jane, who wants to go out to the clubs and pesters me often about going with her. She's so beautiful, curvy😍and figure 8 shaped, and oh her lips, left every guy on the street dieing and wanting to kiss them😋. At 19yrs,she finds pleasure in clubbing and partying,it's her way of exploring life. This is me😶, I don't like to do those things,so I say No Everytime. I have no problem going for a drink or hanging out with friends but the clubs are not me.
If I eventually say yes after much pressure from her,I would be so miserable the whole time and ready to go home as soon as I got there,I just wouldn't be myself.

Society

I wanted to live life like everyone else, to follow the society's expectations but doing this made me unhappy.
I realized I have been living a life not true to myself, struggled most of my life trying to be who I wanted and trying to be who others wanted me to be. Most times I would end up giving up. You wouldn't bame me, would you?, No one wants to be judges harshly or left behind but now I have come to realize that I can't be anything else than myself 😱🤷..
hope it doesn't take you so long to realize that🙏

He vowed that the association would protect its members.

He appealed to authorities to provide more protection for doctors through procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE).

113 Nigerian doctors test positive to coronavirus

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, says 113 Nigerian medical doctors, the majority of whom are from private hospitals, have tested positive to coronavirus.

The minister disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday at a briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

He said: “As for 300 doctors testing positive, that’s a fable, there are not so many people in the health sector who are infected. The latest figure we have is that they’re about 113 actually and these 113 are not all public health workers, a good number are from private hospitals.

“And you could hear us speaking here frequently against people treating coronavirus in private clinics.
We’re actually referring to people who do so without the necessary precautions, without the necessary training. They infect themselves and then go home and give these infections to their family and it’s not the right thing.

“So, the healthcare workers who have no training have no business actually handling coronavirus patients.
As for those who do not have equipment, we’ve said that we’ve provided PPEs for all the people out there. There’s a global shortage of PPEs, every country is struggling for masks, PPEs.”
