After not many opportunities. I finally decided to lay a couple down. I’ve wanted to lay one down with the 30-30 open sight, and my opportunity came this morning. Yesterday, I finally got to pull the trigger on the 7mm. After the doe came out at 540 yards, I settled the crosshairs and laid the smack down. The utilization of any and all resources I can get from harvested game is a very momentous process and defining factor for my life, so any unfilled tags is a detriment to my wellbeing until the next season is embarked upon. That being said, I still have tags and seasons still rolling on. Time to get the bow back out and get up close and personal.

Well after 9 days of hunting hard on some public ground. This is what I came up with. A big spike and a mess of squirrels. People that know me know I won’t pass up a chance to add some extra meat to the ol freezer. I’m not to good at eating my tags, and I ain’t picky either. He was destined to be in pan. Plus the footage is awesome. Thank the good Lord above for another year of harvesting my own food. Now I got 2 more VA tags to fill!

Last nice morning of the season and one finally made the mistake. Hardly any gobbles, but I called the hens passed me and he chose to follow. Ended up at 15 yards where he was met with a Mossberg 835 filled with B&P super magnums and the Spirit! Thank the good Lord above that I got to fill all 3 tags this year! Sadly it’s all over until next spring.

Did someone say God is good? Oh wait, that was me! The good Lord blessed me this morning with awesome footage and great bird #2. A lot of people would call a man crazy for letting a Tom go to kill the jake, but I got the experience and the meat! I’m not complaining a bit.
