Meet Zane.

He was born at just 31 weeks following an emergency C-section. That led to 69 days in the NNICU before coming home.

Zane is no stranger to therapy. Since he was three months, he’s been in physical, feeding, and speech therapy. He’s also received a cerebral palsy diagnosis as well as an Autism diagnosis with language impairment.

But does he let obstacles stop him? No way!

Zane has a strong spirit and a bright smile to match. With a little help from his Surestep SMOs, he runs hard and plays hard!

🌼If you’ve been with us for awhile, you probably remember that Zane used a feeding tube from birth to 1 year. We were able to take out his gbutton this summer and had to have a procedure to help the site close. 🌼

Look at that baby! 😍🥰 Zane was a little over a month old in these photos (taken 2 years ago).

Most of his photos from the first 2.5 months of life look like this-Blurry from being taken by a phone inside a bag (NNICU policy) or bad lighting because the NNICU is dimly lit.

We don’t have any family photos from Zane’s first few months-Nurses are busy helping babies and we were trying to learn to hold a baby with SO many wires and cords attached.

No newborn session, no maternity photos, no delivery room pictures, no headed home photos.

Society may try to trick us and make us feel like we have missed out, but we have seen the inside of the NNICU where babies are fighting for their lives and families are pleading/praying for their child to survive.

We are LUCKY. These blurry and dark photos are a reminder of our blessings and His sweet grace.

Zane LOVES to build and stack! Look how proud he is! These blocks were sent to Z by the Witherington Family after Hannah won a contest with us. So many people have supported us in SO many generous ways on our journey with Zane. Thank y’all for loving our boy. 💜💙⭐️💚

Today was one of our tough days. Zane really struggles to play. He spends a lot of time walking/running in the house and moving from toy to toy. He requires specific modeling and guidance when playing with toys. Sometimes the activity will only last 1-3 minutes. Zane had a few complete meltdowns over a desk chair and struggled with a few angry moments before dinner.

And still...we are completely blessed in so many ways. Our little guy has taught us so much about love, grace, hope, prayer, determination, persistance, and sacrifice.
I already can’t wait to get home from work tomorrow and hear his excited squeal. 😆🥰😍
