AmeriSign Studios is going to become an OTT platform channel like Netflix, for the hearing impaired. Where all the media will be broadcasted in ASL and with closed caption in ASL. As for now, our platform will be on YouTube, we lack the money and the man power to make this into a full service channel.
We, as in me, are going to need to get started with broadcasting the news (hopefully this will be live), childrens programming, talk shows and lessons for the hearing. I'm going to need cast members, video editing, a new logo, someone to review content to approve the material provided and sponsors for support. I'd like to get this on Roku and other platforms as soon as possible. I'm going to be looking for volunteers, hearing and hearing impaired, who are fluent in ASL.
About me, my name is Jonathan Zamorano. I'm not hearing impaired but I understand the need of watch programming in your own language. When I watch foreign films, when there is only closed caption, I find it to be frustrating to keep up with the reading. With this in mind, I wasn't very happy when I found that there really isn't anything for the hearing impaired when it comes to ASL. I also know that this was tried in the past and it failed, more then likely being developed by the hearing community. This is my attempt to make a difference and I'm looking forward to the development of this channel.
