Athlete Flashback: Reigning Defensive Player of the Year, J.J. Watt, has become a terror in the NFL for opposing quarterbacks. He was recently named #6 on the NFL Top 100 List for 2013. Dating back to his high school days, Watt was a tremendous four sport athlete. However, he didn’t receive much offers to play football and first attended Central Michigan University to play tight end. Until he turned his career around quoting “I don’t want to be delivering pizzas. I want to be playing football” and transferred to Wisconsin. If it had been for more exposure from the small town of Waukesha, Wisconsin Watt could have been playing elite level college football right from the start. Throughout his playing days as a youth he wasn’t recognized until the start of his junior year when he grew four inches. During his senior year of high school, he set school records for points and steals in a season. He was only recruited by three schools, however.
