Results from the May 7 Primary Election

Unofficial results are in from the May 7 Primary Election.
Locally, on the Republican ballot, State Rep. (District 49) Joanna King won Tuesday with 3,805 votes, compared to competitor Cindi Hajicek’s 2,047 votes.
In the Republican race for Elkhart County Commissioner, District 3, Suzie Weirick won against Steven Boussom. She had 8,884 votes to his 6,114 votes.
In Middlebury, four candidates were running for three new 4-year terms for Town Council At-large. Winning those seats were Mike Holloway (392 votes), Kent Kauffamn (353 votes), and Kevin Miller (322 votes). Jeremy Yahwak had gotten 309 votes.
Chali Kuiper had run unopposed for Middlebury Clerk-Treasurer.
Also at the county level, Cynthia Chadwell won the race for County Treasurer with 8,071 votes, compared to 5,388 votes for Patty Pickens.
County Coroner went to Mervin Miller with 10,531 votes, compared to James Egnor’s 3,286 votes.
