Auckland City FC's training ground is the oldest stadium in Africa (La Hipica or Marquez de Varela), with 110 years of history.
It is also the home stadium of the city's first club "Moghreb Atlético Tetuán", founded in 1922 and the only Arabic and African team to have participated in the Spanish league during the Spanish protectorate (1951-1952).
