The government is expected to prescribe fresh prevention measures to the nation.
The 13 points measures announced by the Prime Minister and head of government on March 17, 2020 and which were renewed two (2) weeks ago will come to an end today Wednesday April 15, 2020.
As indicated by the PM, the government could renew the measures depending on the state of the virus in the country.
Besides renewing the measures, other options are possible;
A complete suspension of the measures if the government discovers that the virus has been contained across the country and probabilities of fresh infections are low.
A reduction of the measures if there is positive progress with government's Corona Response Plan, especially if Cameroonians are respecting to the fullest the major points in the fight against COVID-19
Given that the Premier recently added some seven (7) points to reinforce the initial measures by encouraging citizens to respect them, the next possible option if change is not visible would be tough.
A national or regional general lockdown would then be inevitable with special focus on affected towns.
These are the possible options that the government is expected to pick one (1) or two (2) after analyzing the situation on the ground.
The analysis definitely would be concluded today Wednesday April 15, 2020 so that fresh strategies are announced.
The situation of Coronavirus in Cameroon keeps increasing in terms of number of positive cases registered.
According to the Minister of Public Health, Dr Manaouda Malachie, recent progress in terms of recovered case have been registered indicating that health officials are doing great and the response plan is effective too.
With the recent mandatory wearing of face masks instituted by the Prime Minister and which took effect Monday April 13, 2020, there are hopes that the situation could be contained in the near future if only Cameroonians respect the measures.
