Instead, approach them with ideas in which they can invest and make money. Make it about their interests, not yours. Show them how they can benefit by investing. And that is when you can get money from them. Human beings are naturally selfish. It is a survival instinct. Understand it, and use it to your advantage and theirs.

JUST IN: Appeal Court Sets Kanu Free

The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division has set free, the leader of the Indeginous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu of the treasonable felony charges preferred against him by the Federal Government.

The three-member panel of Justices of the Appellate Court, in a judgement delivered on Thursday, set aside the judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which quashed 8 out of 15 counts charge against Kanu.

The appellate court agreed with counsel to the IPOB leader, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) that, Kanu was illegally abducted and extra-ordinarily renditioned from Kenya to Nigeria, against both, International and local lows.

“By the illegal abduction and extra- ordinary rendition of the appellant, there was a clear violation of the respondent to International treaties, conventions, as well as the African Charter on Human and Peoples Right”, the court held.

The panel also held that the trial court lack jurisdiction to handle the charges against Kanu, as he was not properly arraigned before the court.

The panel, presided by Justice Jummai Hanatu, also held that the offences Kanu was alleged to have been committed happened in Kenya and not in Nigeria.

JusticeNyako had said, in her judgement that counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 15 showed some allegations, which the IPOB leader had to answer.

But Kanu, through his team of lawyers led by Mike Ozekhome (SAN), filed an appeal marked CA/ABJ/CR/625/2022, praying the court to quash the remaining seven counts for being devoid of merit.

Nigerian man lands in police net for defra¥ding a Cambodia woman of $5K on Facebook

A 37-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for allegedly defra¥ding a woman of $5,000 on Facebook.
The suspect identified simply as 'Kel Chi' was arrested on Tuesday morning, October 11, 2022 by the light criminal police department of the Ministry of Interior and sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for legal action.

According to local media, the 24-year-old victim, Un Srey Net, was approached with a Facebook account named Don Richard in August 2022.

In September 2022, Don Richard’s Facebook account told the victim that he wanted to send some supplies and money from Korea to the victim by air.

The victim then received a phone call from a man claiming to be a customs officer at Phnom Penh Airport, saying that $10,000 was needed to pay tax on the imported items. However, the family of the victim sent $5,000 via a remittance service but then became suspicious and contacted authorities, which resulted in the arrest of Mr Chi.

Soldier Caught With Stolen Ammunition In Borno

A suspect, identified as Iorliam Emmanuel, has been arrested for allegedly stealing and supplying ammunition to terrorists and bandits.

Emmanuel is said to be attached to the 156 Task Force battalion, Dake Mainok in Borno State.

A Security Analyst, Zagazola Makama, shared the video of the moment when the accused was caught via his Twitter handle on Tuesday.

Some soldiers were seen stripping the suspect of ammunition hidden on his body

Charles III has officially been proclaimed king in a historic ceremony in St James’s Palace on Saturday.

The ceremony comes days after Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday aged 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

He pledged to emulate his late mother Queen Elizabeth II and serve for the rest of his life. He said, “I am deeply aware of this great inheritance and of the duties and heavy responsibilities of sovereignty, which have now passed to me,” in a speech before swearing the oath.

UK Prime Minister Liz Truss and senior members of her government have also taken oaths of loyalty to King Charles III in the House of Commons.

Charles is king and head of state not only of the United Kingdom but of 14 other realms including Australia, Canada, Jamaica, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

BREAKING: Priest Resigns, Supports Polygamy, says It's ordained by God

A priest in Nnewi Anglican Diocese, Rev. Barr. Ogbuchukwu Makuo Lotanna has just resigned from being a priest in the Anglican Diocese, with plans to kick off a movement that supports Polygamy.

To Reverend Ogbuchukwu, Polygamy is not bad. He said he has taken his time to discover the truth about Polygamy, which the Church has been hiding for a very long time. He claimed that he has received a divine mandate from God to kick off a movement in support of Polygamy called ‘Gideonites’ and that their place of worship will be called ‘Gideonites temple’.

Reverend Ogbuchukwu who is a legal practitioner has also advised men to marry their side chicks, instead of sleeping around with women who they’re not married to. He said that it will help in reducing sexual sins.

“At the age of 4, I was in a house fire. I remember being trapped by a room full of fire than being pulled out of the window by my big toe. I was in the house with my mom and 3 brothers... two brothers (age 2 and 6) did not make it out.

I was sent to one hospital where they weren't able to do any thing for me, then flown to another. By the time I made it there, my heart had stopped. My mother had been told her 3rd baby died. After a few minutes, I was given another chance at life. And i don't take it for granted at all.

I was burned over 60% of my body, lost 4 fingers, lost an ear and lost all of my hair that isn't able to grow back again. Those were the things that I lost... but I gained so much more. I was given life. I am married. And I have 3 beautiful Children

UNIBEN employee commits su***de over financial difficulties

A member staff of the University of Benin, Prince Carter Oshodin, has committed su***de on Friday over his dire financial situation.

Oshodin, who had not been paid his salary for months due to the strike action embarked by university unions, was a data entry personnel at the university.

It was gathered that the Non-Academic Staff Union which the deceased belonged to has called off its strike recently, but the members had yet to be paid their salaries.

A professor in the University, who would not want his name mentioned due to the emotional nature of the case, told Weekend PUNCH on Saturday that it is disheartening that they have not been paid since the strike action began. He also wondered why those who called of their strike are still not been paid by the government.
He said, “Yes he is our staff that killed himself due to lack of money. Even some months ago, he was quoted to have been advising people on coping strategies and yet he took his life which has put his family in a bigger problem.

“We have been paid no dime since we went on strike. This is the 10th of September, the non academic staff that has since resumed have not been paid anything. Boko Haram! No to Western education!”

Another colleague simply known as Edward said the Late Oshodin on his page lamented that he could not meet his financial and was finding it increasingly difficult to pay his two daughters’ school fees.

He said, “He committed su***de on Friday and according to a post on his Facebook, he said he was facing financial difficulties and could pay the school fees of his two young daughters. It is a pathetic situation.”

As at the time of filing this report, UNiBEN’s Public Relations Officer, Dr Benedicta Ehanire told the reporter to send her a text message, which has not been replied, while Edo State Command Police Public Relation Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, has also not replied a message sent to him.
