Building an audience is SO important❗

Imagine going on Instagram or Facebook, Pinterest or any social media platform. And posting something for the first time...

How many people do you think will see it?
Not too many 😒
And how many people will even care or be waiting for a post from you?
Again, not too many 😕

But if you build an audience, a group of people that will get to know who you are, and like the type of content you post. That can change 😉

When we build an audience, or a group,
We are building an asset for ourselves and our business.

We now can speak to people that are interested in what we have to say, and might be more likely to be interested in what we have to offer.

Once we have our audience large enough. Imagine posting something on any of the platforms I mentioned...

Instagram allows a post to have 30 Hashtags per post.
They do it for a reason, and we as publishers have the chance to make the most out of each post.

Therefore we should use all 30 hashtags to get maximum exposure.

Don't forget to research your competitor's hashtags and see if they are quality or duds.
That means you'll need to go through each hashtag and make sure they aren't harmful to your account.
Also, base on the size of your account, you will need to change the ratio of the following size per hashtag.
If you have a large account, you can target larger hashtag following. If your account is still starting out, you won't be able to compete on a hashtag page with larger accounts.

By being a generalist you are competing against 80% of all other designers. ⁠
You also end up falling in a space where you are trying to serve anyone with anything. While in reality, you just end up serving very few people with anything.⁠

By positioning yourself as an expert, you now can focus on creating targeted messaging specific to one specific demographic and customer interest.⁠

Now you have a chance of becoming an authority in your space. Which results in you staying top of mind.⁠
That is when you will not only be offered jobs by your niche, but others will reach out as well regarding their projects. ⁠

Now you have the luxury of choosing what projects you accept.⁠

Wouldn't that be nice?⁠
All that's up to you, is looking at past clients you already had and enjoyed working with. and defining what they have in common as demographic and type of projects... Now you know your niche and ideal client.⁠

Make more sales by making more offers! Here is how.

Just because you have a good product or a great service, doesn't mean that you will be sold out or fully booked immediately.

People first need to know about you and your service to even think about if they like it/you.
Only after they start liking you and your service, they can trust and eventually refer you to their friends and family.

Those are the 3 pillars. KNOW, LIKE and TRUST.

Ever heard of the "Hook"?
For every marketing campaign, and it doesn't matter for what medium. Be it Paid, Organic, Optimisation, etc. it is of the utmost importance to know how to grab your audiences attention.

Most people are too busy to spend time reading through your post. In 2017 the attention span of the average person was 7 seconds on one frame. Today that average has dropped to only 3 seconds! (that's a huge difference, and that's probably why "TicTok" has become so popular amongst youngsters these days).
Therefore you have to engage your prospect or reader to be interested in reading through to the end.
For that, we use a "hook" to give the reader a reason to even pay attention to our posts. otherwise, they will simply scroll past our post and that is money on the table.

But how do you come up with the right hook?

the answer is. ASK QUESTIONS. but not just any questions, the RIGHT Questions!
After researching and knowing your audience, you will know what questions your readers want answering. And you will also know in what tone of voice they are listening out for. When you get to know your audience, and you know what their needs are. THAT is when you will know how to answer their inner desires, questions and have them engage with your content.

There are 2 types of marketing.
1- Paid: where you spend money 💰 to make more money.
2- Organic: where you spend time 🕰️ to make money.
Lets break it down...
There are many types of either marketing channels. On the "put money to make money" side of the spectrum, the more popular channels are FACEBOOK, Instagram, LinkedIn and Google ads (more known as PPC ads).

On the Organic side of things. We mostly have to put our time and effort to build rapport and trust with our potential clients. Which in return will keep us top of mind for when our audience is ready to buy.
As with all things, each has its ups and it's downs. Paid traffic cost money and is only short term as when you stop paying the flow stops immediately. But on the other hand, whatever you invest can be measured and you can see your investment pay off almost instantly.

ORGANIC traffic, takes a very long time to build up, sometimes even a few months, but the more your audience grows, the more free traffic you will be able to get from the effort you put in at the beginning. Almost what they call passive traffic.
