🔥 C21 Gas Mask First Impressions 🔥
After a few days of testing C21 and digging through the painfully limited info available, I can honestly say two things:
😵 This mask is mid at best…
💸 …and it’s absolutely not worth €/$500.
To be blunt, in light of what we now know, it feels downright insulting.
👉 Many people don’t even realize C21 is just a stripped-down version of M21 gas mask. Thankfully, we now have a much clearer picture of what’s really going on.
Here’s the kicker:
MIRA Safety markets C21 with the following description: “Patented Side Connector: Easily swap filter mount between left or right without tools.”
⚠️ That’s misleading. C21 only comes in a single-port version (left or right), with no swap option. The swappable connectors exist only on M21, the Italian Army’s regulated version, which also features an Auto-Shutoff Valve for safe filter changes.
This is the result of copying product information from a poorly structured DPI catalog without proper review. For a company reselling protective equipment, providing accurate and reliable specifications should be the minimum standard.
Given what we already know about MIRA Safety and their business practices, it’s hard to say whether this is another instance of their incompetence - or deliberate misrepresentation of C21 features.
This isn’t just a matter of having a single filter port, like it was the case with the Avon FM12 we reviewed. The entire M21 design (with its questionable placement of the exhalation assembly and that massive front profile) was built around removable connectors. Without them, C21 ends up bulky and overbuilt for no reason.
⁉️ So what does C21 give you?
👉 No swappable connectors
👉 No shutoff valve
👉 An insulting €/$500 price tag
👉 And much more (To be continued)
We’ve got a lot more to unpack in our full review next month, so stay tuned 👀
