The proposed Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) could be a lifeline for low-income disabled people—but right now, it’s falling painfully short.

After four years of extensive consultation with the disability community, the government has ignored the recommendations of disabled people and proposed a benefit that excludes those most in need.

👉 We’re calling on the federal government to increase the benefit to $1800–$2000/month, ensure automatic eligibility for those already receiving disability supports, and prevent any social assistance clawbacks.

Invisible no more!

The main objectives of Invisible Disabilies Week are to:

- Raise awareness about invisible disabilities.
- Educate the public and provide information about various invisible conditions.
- Provide support to and encourage empathy for individuals living with invisible disabilities.
- Challenge stigma and misconceptions surrounding invisible disabilities.
- Create a more inclusive and understanding society in educational, work, and social settings through the development of resources, networks, and communities for those affected.

Many people around you live with invisible disabilities such as chronic pain, a learning disability, or chronic illness.

People deserve to live with dignity, regardless of whether their disability is visible or not!

Today marks the start of week. I am what someone looks like with and invisible disability. Many people living with those illnesses are invisible. You may not be able to see them but they are just a valid. You can’t see it but it’s still there.
