Come tour the bakeries of Chios, Paros and Syros... uh, I mean, come explore these islands!

Come visit stunning Lefkes and then walk the Byzantine Road with us. This is the oldest road on Paros and dates back to 1000AD when it was made from marble.

We'll also show you an awesome industrial museum the celebrates the innovations and industry of one of these Greek Islands.

You'll see a Venetian Castle (Ενετικό Κάστρο Νάουσας Πάρου) too!

Add some cute cats and fun cycling, and you have a joyful little adventure. :) Join us!

The food and sights of Chios!

For less than 2 euro, you can try the specialty this island has celebrated for hundreds of years... mastic chewing gum!

"Mastic is a resin obtained from the mastic tree (Pistacia lentiscus). It is also known as tears of Chios, being traditionally produced on the island."

It certainly has a distinctive flavour. I bought a pack of mastic gum infused with vitamin c and vitamin b12 from the local grocery store. Why the vitamins? Well, the original use for this gum was for dental medicine. So, it's culturally connected to health. Some types add 'normal' gum flavours like mint, but others also offer unusual flavours like rose water! 🌹

It's rare you can experience something so unique at such a low price!

This pretty place is worth visiting and it's on one of the most frequent the ferry routes in this part of the Greek islands. We're filming so you can see more via the Adventures of a Fatman channel on YouTube.

This thermal spring pool sits overlooking the beach. Entry is free! There are change rooms beside the pool. Plus, there is lots of seating. Folks chat and play cards in the shade. You can smell the mineral water. Warmth radiates from it's surface. This is a very uniqulittle place!

The Bulgarian name of this place translates to "The Hot Water".

Tonight, we attended a Hungarian talk on submarine warfare history. Thanks to Google Translate, we were even able to understand some of it!

The venue was a beautiful old synagogue, which now operates as a community library here in Baja. The architecture and grounds offer a stunning backdrop for community gatherings.

The Librarians were very welcoming. The talk was popular. Most of the seats in the place were full!

It was certainly interesting to hear about world events from the viewpoint of a Submariner who isn't British or American.

Our tiny home in the Hungarian village of Szalkszentmárton.

We stayed here for two nights.

This little community has three small grocery stores, beautiful public art sculptures, and a bakery that does a roaring trade.

It was very peaceful.

Today, we've continued our journey south towards the border. Serbia is calling!

A corduroy jacket in that perfect shade of dark tan glides by you on an electric scooter, part of a bold business-casual outfit complete with bow tie.

Welcome to Budapest!

Older men shuffle past in bright colours and accessories such as a little blue scarf tied around their neck, displayed with wild abandon thanks to a partially unbuttoned crisp collared shirt and complement led by a trendy little hat. Feminine fashions include all sorts of styles, but bold and quirky remains a common theme.

This place feels a little rebellious. 😼

It's probably no surprise they haven't bothered to adopt the currency of the rest of Europe. 💶 🙅‍♀️Instead, a vast variety of bright uniquely Hungarian notes and coins offer a puzzle for your tourist brain to solve in order to pay for your coffee.

The architecture is truly different here compared with other countries too. It's hard to describe the mixture of roof line and adornment nuances that make it... just so awesomely Hungarian.

I am exploring using the metro system to get out beyond the old town. The plethora of cool cafes and vegan bakery goodies encourage further marauding.

Wherever you are in the world, dear reader, I hope you have an opportunity to dress up and strut your stuff boldly... your highlights lit up by the sun like the folks here in Budapest.

A health food breakfast before I go to the gym. €1.50 😋

A morning 'Pastel de Nata' with coffee is a cultural phenomenon here in Portugal!

Charles and I asked one of our local Portuguese friends how it's possible that people stay so slim on average when eating such foods so often.

He told us that pastel de nata is low in calories. I could google this surprising belief, but why risk ruining the fantasy? 😉

These vegan ones are surely even better, having no cholesterol. So, I'm thrilled to be enjoying such a delicious 'healthy' Portuguese breakfast. 🤭😆🇵🇹

This seems to be some kind of wacky, fun community theatre project... with Christmas carols snd clowns. 😳🤔 They're roaming around outside the railway station today.

I'm here meeting another lady from the incredible'Host a Sister' Facebook group.

We'll explore this new place together.

I took the bus. Charles - aka the Fat Man from YouTube Adventures of a Fat Man - is riding up from Figueira da Foz.

So far, it doesn't sound like it's going well.

I hope he gets here ok!
