On Episode 2 we talk about comparing ourselves. Comparing how we are alike and different helps us to discover how God made us uniquely. It’s fun to share our differences when it comes to favorites. It’s like searching for valuable treasure that helps us know and celebrate someone else.
The question we’re exploring today is this: Am I comparing to treasure or measure?
Comparison is a human struggle but it’s really important for tweens and teens to be aware of because you’re trying to figure out who you are in this world and comparing seems like an easy way to do that. The problem is that it’s easy but it’s wrong. Other people aren’t the ones who give us value. Only God does. This is when we’re using comparing to measure not treasure.
Rilyn and Jill share:
- We need to look at others and treasure but not measure.
- We have to start being more grateful of what we have and who we are, maybe even starting a grateful journal.
- We need to be careful how much we’re on social media because it can cause us to compare our insides with other people’s outsides.

Nope! We’ve gotten this question a lot. We’ve intentionally made this podcast for both boys and girls to listen to. In the first three episodes we talk about making mistakes, comparing ourselves and faith. All topics that boys and girls both need to hear!

Yesterday was a hard day - lots of emotions. Rilyn and I headed upstairs to curl up under my comforter and I thought I’d put on something we could listen to while we quietly rested. I pulled up my podcast app and started scrolling. Once again, we came up empty outside of stories and I was reminded why we are starting the Be(Tween) podcast.

November 16 can’t come fast enough!
The Be(Tween) Podcast ✌️ was dreamed up because we were looking for something for Rilyn (your host) and her brother to listen to in the car and there were very few options out there that talked about the real stuff in the life of a Tween.

In searching for resources for tweens we also realized the need for something for both boys AND girls.
✌️
So, after looking for something and coming up short, we decided to make our own.
✌️
On the Be(Tween) Podcast we encourage tweens to be bold, be honest, and be the best they can be.

We are so glad you’re here on the journey with us and we are so excited for November 16!
