We venture into Wales and watch my son race Enduro bikes, Ernie lends a helping hand at the locks and Paul and I celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary, all while travelling the beautiful Shropshire Union Canal on our 68ft narrowboat. I often wonder if there is anything I would change if I was to renovate another boat. Two things spring to mind. One would be to have a dinette or at least a table and chairs of some sort instead of a breakfast bar and the other screams in my face every time I'm down on my knees trying with all my might to wipe general boat grime from the flooring in the bathroom. Why oh why did I think that having a white floor, a white floor with grooves in that captures any dust from the multistove, would be a good idea. Sometimes this boat job can take all day to ressemble clean. So, to help any future or current boat renovators out there.... Do NOT choose white as a flooring colour option not if you plan to live on her during the winter months and not if you have dodgy knees 🤣😃

Beautiful to see that late afternoon sun beaming through the windows. Winter, although it's been fairly mild, it's been so wet. With spring just 3 days away, I for one can not wait for, fingers crossed, dryer weather. The muddy tow paths are starting to really tick me off now 😉 I think we've coped relatively well, being our first winter as Continuous Cruisers, but I wouldn't want it too go on much longer 😊

The birds at Fazeley Junction. We've yet to see a real kingfisher on our travels. Paul thinks we must travel with our eyes closed! Nearly 8months of living on board and continuously cruising the network and not even a glimpse of a kingfisher 😢
