💬 "Land prices in Macau, on the other hand, can be as low as a tenth of Hong Kong prices, and there is little competition with fewer companies with international expertise, in terms of project design. The investment risk is also low.

"Given the fragmented market, you can acquire land by forming partnerships with landowners to reduce the risk and costs involved." Pang said.

"The competition is not so fierce too – less than five Hong Kong builders are active in Macau," he added."

💬 "A good view is a terrible thing to waste.

And the view from the 690 sq ft Wong Chuk Hang flat that Tommy Hui Shui-cheung was hired to renovate is truly spectacular: a sweeping panorama of Bennett’s Hill and Aberdeen Harbour, with folds of greenery rolling into the sea."

Was Tommy Hui Shui-cheung, founder of local architecture firm TBC Studio, was able to focus the interior on the views?

💬 "Hong Kong seams on a trajectory toward mainlandization and a more closed approach to the outside world, at least for the time being.

The city is increasingly viewed as a typical Chinese city, despite its Special Administrative Region (SAR) status.

Even before Hong Kong began weathering the current storm of public health and political uncertainty, foreign real estate investors were already losing their confidence in the long term prospects of the Asian financial hub."

🏠 "Gordon Wu Ying-sheung, has lashed out at local officials for their “inefficiency and incapability” in solving his hometown’s land problems.

The strongly worded criticisms came a day after Xi hailed Shenzhen as an “important engine” for the development of the Greater Bay Area in a speech that marked the 40th anniversary of the Guangdong city’s special economic zone, reigniting fears Hong Kong’s role in the national strategy could be diminishing."

💡 When you don't have a lot of space, sometimes the only option is to get creative and make rooms multi-purpose.

For example, if you don't have room for a separate living room, family room, and home office, you could combine each concept into one space.

Make sure the layout and furniture can accommodate each of the concepts you have in mind without looking too disconnected or cluttered.

🏙️ "Since the Covid-19 pandemic erupted in February, Hong Kong’s residential property sector has proved remarkably resilient, living up to its reputation as the Teflon market in periods of severe turmoil.

Despite an economy mired in what is expected to be its deepest recession on record, an unemployment rate that has shot up to its highest level in 15 years and concerns over the city’s future as Asia’s premier financial centre, house prices and sales have held up extremely well."

💬 "As the U.K. property market rebounds from the Covid-19 lockdown, the capital’s prime residential sector has also received an unexpected boost from Hong Kong residents wanting to relocate.

"We’ve never had so many serious inquiries from Hong Kong," said Trevor Abrahmsohn , managing director of Glentree, a luxury home agency.

"These buyers are looking at the top end of the market," such as rentals of $51,100 a week and sales of up to $76.6 million, he said."

There's a difference between clutter and well-curated collections and dramatic design moments.

💡 Choosing a larger rug, even one with a bold pattern, is a simple trick that can make a small room feel bigger.

Unlike with smaller rugs, the large size doesn't visually break up the floor.

It can help anchor a space and provide a good staple piece that you can design the rest of the room around.
